Hi all

I have a bit of scarring on my cheeks from spots when I was younger and just around my eye from an operation i had aged 18. I was wondering if anyone had any tips of how to fade them a bit?!

I hate them and they really make me feel self concious, i can't really go out without make up on because they look so horrible!!!

Thank you in advance!!!

You could try Bio Oil, it should help a bit. Though works best on scars less than 6 months old apparently.

I recommend Bio Oil too. I have some scars from acne as a teenager (i'm 27 now) and have been using bio oil for the past few months and it's really making a difference :]

I recommend going to your Doctor, he/she should be able to recommend a cream of some sort. I can't quite remember the name, but I'm sure there is a very good cream that over time the scars gradually fade away, especially if small/thin.

im in the bio oil corner too...

And although it feels so wrong putting something oiley on your face (at least it does for me when i spend half my time trying to stop my skin being oiley) it is actually good for your skin, and can help prevent spots not cause them!

Your GP won't really help. You'd be better off going to a dermatologist. Getting some Retin-A or having some laser work or chemical peel.

Bio oil probably won't do much after the first year. Vitamin E oil is another one to try though.

Just came across this thread, I suffered with acne in my youngers years (26 now) so I may give it a try and if it doesnt work i'll just apply to be the next bad guy in an action film.

Bio Oil is good but there are other products similar to Bio Oil at a lower price.

    Superdrug brand - 30ml £1.99

I've started using it recently because I have lots of scars on my arms and legs. It's best to use it twice a day. Allow it to soak in for about 10 minutes or so before doing anything else. I've noticed a difference in my scars already. :)

    I hope this helps.

I think that's worth doing because a GP might then be able to do a referral to a dermatological specialist who should be familiar with a wide range of suitable and effective treatments.

    Good luck anyways, LondonGirl25. :)
