Holly Bleasdale is so mentally weak, she'll never be a serious contender. Awful start for GB.
Yep, as they just said on TV, there must have been something wrong. I would say that something is she is an absolute choker, between this and the Olympics. Mentally, she has to improve a lot.
Nice to see so many children in the ground today. They were struggling to sell tickets so a lot of North East schools were given free tickets by the organisers which I think is a nice touch
Wooh, another great run from the distance girls! They're carrying the team at the moment. It's already looking like Germany v Russia for the win, then Poland v France for third place. Hopefully we can get in there.
Not a great start for the British overall. Will start with the positive - fabulous run from Jessica Judd & has put some of her senior more experienced colleagues to shame. Great run by Laura Weightman there to hang on for 2nd too.
Uncharacteristically sloppy hurdling from Dai Greene. Holly Bleasdale though.::mad: Firstly I think she needs to compete more - she competes a lot indoors yet so sparingly outdoors. She gets the results in the big indoor competitions - world indoors bronze & Euro Indoor Gold. She also needs to deal with competing in windy conditions. She's from Blackburn & she trains half the time in Cardiff these days so should not really be an issue - I do wonder though if she trains much outdoors in windy or rainy conditions. You can't control the weather though so she has to learn to deal with it otherwise she will never fill her potential.
Also don't understand the 100m selection. If Dasaoulu is fit then he should be running & if not, then why not Gemili who showed last weekend that he's in great form.
Is there a Womens and a Mens competition or is it all just down to the overall standings?
It always used to be both, but now it's just one single competition, which makes it more interesting. In the past few years the Russians have run away with it because of the strength of their women, but the drug testers have cut a swathe through them this last few months.

The BBC had us to come 5th (joint)
Russia and Germany top 2 but you could be right about the drug issues - how good are the former now?
Hopefully Rutherford, PSD and Mo Farah can pick up high points.
Final result of the pole vault show just how bad Holly Bleasdale messed up. If she'd merely cleared the opening height of 3.80 she'd have won us 4 points.

Watching. Although not feeling watching the Pole Vault atm.
To be fair to Dai he did not make any excuses (unlike the BBC Commentators..) and congratulated the German who beat him.
Edit: Oooh the Russian got DQ'd, so we get might the win, that's the first bit of good news today.
Edit 2: Now they're saying the Russian hasn't been DQ'd after all, confusion reigns.
Watching, a brave and determined race then, great second place

Heard she is only 18 so maybe is a great prospect...
Good win for Eilidh Child considering she is supposed to be 2nd choice in her event.
This GB women's 4x400 team is really shaping up to be something special.
Just overall I think.

Nice work from Charlie all the same.
