As a person not bogged down with work or family here is my typical Friday but this was a super good one:

Woke up
Went to Sainsburys for Cheese Twist
Went to Costa for black coffee with my cheese twist
Returned to domicile
Watched Frasier on 4+1 including 1000th episode filmed in Seattle
Watched Come Dine With Me from Lincolnshire
Ordered Takeaway Sushi from YouMeSushi (great)
Watched Tour de France
Watched Big Bang Theory
Watched Bergerac
Watched Lovejoy (my favourite)
Started drinking
Watched News
Watched a DVD (Big Trouble in LIttle China - my favourite commentary)
Watched Breaking Bad Final season Commentary on Itunes.

Amazing day, still drinking. :)

    No that's a better one.

The 1000th one is a bit crap they get lost in Seattle and have to steal from a blind beggar.

Ahhh ok. I remember our local news stations in Seattle acting giddy when they were there filming, but I don't think I ever saw finished product.

    I think so too.

Televsion today is such a great medium.

This is because we are not only in the here and now.

But digital channels let us go back to great times in TV past like Bergerac and Frasier.:)

That's an amazing day. :o You mean a pretty mediocre day.

All you did really was watch TV, eat and drink some booze.

    Have you.

Climbed a mountain or scaled a knife edge ridge.

Been out to sea in a small boat to do some fishing or sailing for the whole day. I've done this many a time.

    Been to the Oktoberfest.

    Seen kingfishers catching fish.

    Seen a decent firework display.

Done an all nighter in a cinema.

Seen the sunset from Land's End.

    Walked behind a waterfall.

Been to a real ale festival.

Those have been some of my more amazing days, but let's face it, you've set the bar pretty low.

It wouldn't be hard. A day trip somewhere. Anywhere reasonable.

Tbh, I think the OP starts these silly threads just for the wind up factor.

Speak for yourself. Sharing your experiences, having a family, watching your kids grow up or sitting at home all day watching crap on tv. Easy choice.

A day like that for me would be a great relaxing day but nowhere near the greatest day.

I'd rather watch crap on TV all day, if those are the only two choices. At least then I can relax without having to deal with constantly demanding kids and being nagged by the other half. Besides, I have plenty of other ways of sharing my experiences with others, such as friends and on DS. :o

Yes I think most people looking at the opening post would probably question the lifestyle of the person writing it but personally I think its what floats your boat that matters and if that's it fair enough. As long as you don't wake up at half past life and wonder where all the time went its ok.

You've done some interesting stuff and Im sure you have enjoyed it all, however I do get the impression some people (especially where travel is concerned) do it simply so they can feel superior by reeling off a list at social gatherings etc.

Oh alright. I know what we're all thinking. If that was an 'amazing' day, just what does a boring one look like? I mean, watching crap telly and getting pissed isn't how I would choose to spend my last day on Earth.

ETA: as someone 'bogged down' with both work and family, here was my Friday:

    Morning:
Worked from home (OK, turned on the laptop and dealt with a few emails. I mean, that's what we all do, right?)
Bacon sandwich and tea for breakfast
Sunlight streaming in through the open French windows, Verdi on the hi-fi etc

    Afternoon:
Couple of pints of Thatcher's Gold in the beer garden whilst reading Haunted (Chuck Palahniuk - beautifully written but highly disturbing)
Back home, Pimms-o-clock with my beloved wife, lemonade for the daughter.
Late lunch - pork steaks baked with sliced new potatoes and tomatoes, flavoured with Rosemary and garlic. English strawberries and cream to follow. Some chilled Fiano to chase it down.

    Evening:
Games, conversation and some TV with daughter.
    Wife off to work.
Watched The Battle of Britain. It's still a great film. Felt grateful that we are able to enjoy a peaceful summer in England instead of fighting for our lives in the summer of 1940.

Now that was a pretty average Friday for me. Pleasant but far from 'amazing'. OP, you have my sympathy.

Point taken. I've actually made that comment myself. But, it has to be said the amount some people on DS have travelled, make me look like a hermit.
