I have heard this phrase many times and still don't understand what it means

Could someone explain what this means?

Zionism (Hebrew: ציונות‎, Tsiyonut) is a Jewish political movement that, in its broadest sense, has supported the self-determination of the Jewish people in a sovereign Jewish national homeland.

Basically it means being in favour of a homeland (Israel) for the Jews.

its an extreme radical right wing political movement on the believe of racial/religious superiority over others (usually palestinians) and was once(or still is?) considered a racist viewpoint by the UN
