Did the contestants choose their own songs at Bootcamp

Does anyone know if the contestants were given a choice of songs to sing because if I heard the Goo Goo Dolls Iris once more I was going to scream.

I think three of four people sang it the other night,
Sick hearing it to be honest

    I highly doubt it. They maybe given a choice of a few, but they wont be allowed to choose their own song entirely.

    The live shows are the same, the judges are given limited songs for their groups and it's pretty much dictated which song is given to whom. It's one of the best tactics to ensure the act they want out that week, goes home.

    I think they were more than likely given a selection to choose from.

    well in some cases you wouldn't know they were supposed to be singing the same song... :o
