Well, there you have it, 3 pages of fabulous advice, brimming with super ideas on how to spend a thrill seeking evening in the bright lights of Mortlake.
Personally, I'd go to Richmond and The Sun Inn. Or I'd go a little further and head for the Strand On The Green, featuring The Bell And Crown, The Bulls Head and The Royal Barge.

Yes, thanks very much to all that have contributed. Think we'll start off at The Tree House pub and then have a wander down St.Leonard's Rd, then First, Second and Third Avenue. Had a quick look at Street View and most of the roads and houses look similar, so not sure if I'll find what I'm looking for, but thanks for everyone's input.
Yes, but there's no difference between day and night, as the 65 is a 24 hour service.
I can remember when the 65 went all the way from Ealing Broadway to Chessington Zoo (as it was then called). The 71 came from Chessington and went at least to Ham and maybe onto Richmond.
Mortlake bus station is very near the train station, so there's ample scope for train spotting too. See if you can spot the Windsor And Eton Riverside services and if they differentiate between the stopping and the semi-fast service.
Ah yes.. for the princely sum of 8 New Pence... A journey my chums and I did many times, it was cheap to get in the zoo (as it was) and there were the free rides.

We don't like to tell people about Strand....>:( we prefer to keep it to ourselves

Going for a night out in Mortlake with my brother. Can anyone recommend any places to go. Looking for somewhere with a lock-in to put the world to rights.

You know you sound like a stalker now don't you?
I love the Strand On The Green. I once saw Lloyd Grossman there.
I'm in the area next week, I may well pop down there for a stroll and a drink.
this looks nice

the Albert Dock in Liverpool is very nice as well though
'Tis a fine place for a pie and pint on a summers afternoon and no mistake.
Sounds good
This would be a good day for a pint by the Thames
So when are you going op?
It's really not, I've missed this thread
