Wireless Internet

I have to set up wireless Internet because my brother is getting a laptop for Xmas. What I want to know is, should there be any cables connected into my home hub? I have a grey Internet wire in it right now and my computer says it is connected to wireless Internet, but I'm not sure. If I take it out, my Internet isn't connected. I thought wireless Internet meant no wires...:o I have no one at home I can ask and the help files for the dongle are no help and neither was Google.

You should have 2 cables connected into the router :-

    1. From the BT socket....normally grey.

    2. From the mains power socket...normally black.

The "wireless" description refers to the connection between the router and the computer.
