Tories say Heathrow should be renamed Thatcher International
"The campaign in memory of the Iron Lady appears to have reached new heights with Tory MPs arguing that one of the UK’s major airports, such as Heathrow, should be renamed Thatcher International.
Tory MPs Stephen Metcalfe and Eleanor Laing have put forward an early day motion."

Are this lot for real?
Can't they just get it into their heads that large sections of our society aren't too keen on this lady and don't share their adulation for her.

If they wish to rename it, they should first renationalise it!
"Heathrow" is one of the UK's top 10 recognised brands, I cannot for the life of me seeing any of our directors supporting changing the company name (and all that entails) to one as divisive as Thatcher.
She was a great PM, albeit with a chequered record but this drivel coming from the right is beyond parody now.
Indeed. It's the arrogance of it all.
Or rename the Conservative Party as the Margaret Thatcher Party...
Pilots were getting confused with airports such as
George best (Belfast ) and John Lennon (Liverpool )
Imagine being asked to go from
John Lennon to Thatcher then
Why not rename it "Ding Dong" airport
It all seems tied up with the entitlement culture of the rich and powerful
Thatcher was absolutely fantastic for the rich and powerful and they think they are the only ones that count...........if she was fantastic for them they think that she must have been fantastic for everyone because they are 'the country', they're the people that matter..........
They don't appear to have any concept of the notion that other people exist with different lives to theirs
It makes a good story though.
I don't know whether there is one but it wouldn't surprise me if there aren't half a dozen.
And the further they move away from Thatcherism, the more UKIPs support rises.
They do realise that they can stop sliming up to her now, she has no more influence and hasn't had for a good few years.
They remind me of smithers from the "Simpsons ", the way he sucks up to Mr burns.
Yeh that would be a right vote winner for them wouldn't it:D
Give it a rest, wash out your crusty undercrackers and forget about her. She's dead and gone.
As soon will be many of her admirers
Only in that strange part of the world you inhabit and in the minds of a few thousand saddos of the left elsewhere.
