1. . BBC3 will close completely at 0400 on 31 March, with the service completely online only. As a result of the changes, BBC1 HD will move to 115, BBC2 HD to 141, BBC Alba to 142 and BBC4 HD to 143. The future of channels 210 and 211 are as yet unclear.
2. Tests have appeared for an expanded BBC Red Button service over the summer. The exact date has not yet been announced, but it looks as if the service will be the same as last year – at least for Wimbledon and Glastonbury – 5 additional SD streams and one HD stream. Tests are on 12422 H, currently configured as DVB-S2, which looks like an error. The BBC has not yet announced their plans for the summer in terms of distribution.
3. ITV is to launch 3 new HD regions on satellite on 31 March. Anglia East, Yorkshire West and Tyne Tees will bring to 10 the total number of ITV HD regions out of a total of 23. It is not yet known when the remaining primary regions will launch, but it is also hoped that some of the sub-regions will go HD when technically possible.

Super-surprised they have dropped that news before it happens.

Now the question is when will Freesat add the channel!?
I can confirm that C5 is still encrypted at the moment but I will keep checking to see when it changes.

During a recent visit to The Netherlands all our domestic services BBC 1 and 2 ITV etc are available on cable.
Their main national services are heavily encrypted. NPO1 etc and the RTLs.
I know about copyright etc. If the UK can do it why cant we watch their TV?
EU and all that. We should be able to. I know rights are sold country by country so that the makers get more money.... Even if we want to subscribe we cant. We should be able to legally subscribe...
If Brussels want to sort something out get them to do that so we can subscribe to channels like HBO and AXN etc !!!!
You can subscribe if you want - it is positive of staying in the EU. You cannot be stopped from subscribing.
BBC Worldwide (the commercial arm of the BBC) has deals with Dutch operators regarding the carriage of BBC UK channels, so it's not that viewers there are watching the BBC for free, it'll be within their cable package charge. As The Netherlands is within the UK Spot Beam coverage area, the BBC would have to get clearance to broadcast programmes here, so might as well make some additional money from carriage deals.
I believe they always sold BBC 1 and 2 to Dutch cable operators, even before satellite, with an enhanced signal from Dover previously I believe?
