Nice to know UEFA take racism seriously isn't it.

What a pitiful punishment.

Any idea how much The FA were charged for the disgusting racist chanting by the English fans???

    No, didn't think so.

Presumably this is the cost of flying the crowd out to shake the player's hands...

    My debate wasn't about that.

It's about the piss-poor punishment and the example it sets.

Naturally if it was proved that some English fans were racial antagonists, I'd expect to see an equally harsh punishment.

Its been the case for a while that fines for racism and abusive chanting have been pretty minor.

Mind you is it fair to fine the country's FA for the behaviour of a small minority of fans?

Good article that sums it up. I do apologise if I assumed you jumped on the "Anti FIFA/UEFA, everyones against us" bandwagon.

The "gyppo" chant is actually quite common in the lower leagues. It's usually directed against players with long hair and/or a slightly scruffy appearance, but I must admit that I'm a little uncomfortable hearing it.
