X-Hose - anyone got one?

Was thinking about these and getting one but they very are expensive. Having a read around there are lots of negative reviews. Many people claim they develop leaks, the hose actually bursts and that the connectors are non-standard and also leak. Those are supposed to be reviews of genuine X-Hose not copies.

Just the idea seems to be useful to me but the reviews are putting me off.

I got my dad one for fathers day, so far he's not complained about it and recommended it.

Do you really think it's expensive? Have you compared the cost to a decent standard hose with a reel? There's not that much difference, and the X-Hose is a lot easier to store and use so long as you have decent water pressure.

In that case then don't buy one. Every product will have some bad reviews. Sometimes people have strange expectations. Also, you never know how they used it from just a short review.

It sounds like you have too many doubts. Stick with a standard hose

2 of my neighbours purchased X hoses, (genuine boxed products, not copies) and both have failed.
