Now i very much doubt there are many on here that remember this show, i dont and am 49,, but recently i found out that my Mum had a couple of parts in it, although she isnt listed on Imbd.

Anyway i manged to get the Film of it made in 1959, which starred Michael Craig (very dishy according to my Mum) , other people in this epsoide was Rosemary miller, and Dorothy Allison, and a very young Joan sims also , it is on Dvd, it ran for 10 Years from 57/67, and some say it was the fore runner to shows like General Hospital, Angels etc Casaulty ,Holby, but was the very first Medical drama ,

Anybody on here ever seen this, and how Do i find out what Epsoide she was in, she cant remember but she was in the same Epsoide as Carmel, mc Sharry (who is best rememberd for a 70s soap called Beryls Lot )

There are 3 dvd sets of the series out .
Should make for some interesting viewing.

McSharry only in 2 episodes apparently (bottom of listing)
    Episodes 3 and 4 both from 1957.

    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0574547/

Assuming your mums memory of her co-star is correct and the IMDB is correct then you're out of luck as Networks Volume 1 has 24 of earliest surviving episodes starting with 1959 so it looks like the earlier ones are lost.

Is your mum on this list .
If it was a speaking part she should be.

Was her role non speaking in the episode?
That might explain her not being listed.

I guess all her shows are not lost although I think the odd episode of Z-Cars survives but if she was only in 2 it would be very lucky if they were one of the surviving ones.
Unfortunately I'm not au fait with Z-Cars although I assume there must be websites on it

    They are 1957.
Looks like nothing earlier than 1959 survives.

I've just turned 54 and just about remember EW10. IIRC John Alderton was in it. I liked it - I've always liked medic dramas... Dr Kildare was my very first TV crush :o

The only ep I remember of EW10 was when Zoe was trapped in a tunnel? or a collapsed building. I think she died which is probably why I remember it... being so young I must have been traumatised

No sure why I don't remember any other bits. Most likely I must have been up late for some reason to catch the traumatising drama...

Also remember Z Cars *Da da dah da da da da dah... da da dah da da da dah*:D:D:D

And the first ever ep of Dr Who

    No episodes of what ?
I believe some of the 1 hour General Hospital shows exist although I expect the half hour daytime ones are likely wiped like most of the ATV archive of that era.

    Angels was on UK Gold.

I suspect this is your Grange Hill redhead

I remember EW10. There was a blonde nurse in it (Jill someone?) who - er - helped me through my adolescence.

I do wonder how these bootleg sites continue to operate.
It wouldn't be so bad if the stuff they sold was decent quality

    Was she in EW10?

    I know her from Crossroads.

Looking back she was actually a very hot woman and was not too bad last time I saw her either.

I remember Desmond Carrington played a doctor on it. He's still alive and has a show on Radio2 which he does from his home in Perthsire.

I also recall an actor called Charles Tingwell who I believe starred in some Australian dramas

I have uploaded the TV Times listings for the 2 episodes with Carmel McSharry to my Photobucket site. Please feel free to take a look. There is other TV and Radio Times memorabilia on there :)

Charles "Bud " Tingwell was an Australian actor who seemed to find plenty of work in the UK for many years.

But I know him as Beaver James from the Mindbender episode of UFO .

He is probably best known for the first series of Catweazle set on Hexwood Farm where he played Carrot's Father.

Tingwell died aged 86 in May 2009 back home in Australia where he was treated like royalty and apparently he was so loved in Oz he had almost a state funeral.

As a side note it's sad to know that Carrot himself from Catweazle also died last year

I remember him from the Margaret Rutherford early 60s films of Miss Marple in which he played Inspector Craddock ;)

Interesting to note two actors in that photo - extreme right is Richard Thorp (Alan Turner in Emmerdale) and second from left is John Barron (later CJ in Reginald Perrin).

I was a kid when EW10 was first screened but I can remember it was a regular feature in our house, maybe because my mum had been a nurse and could relate to some of it.

I can't remember any of the storylines but stangely enough one small thing sticks in my mind. At the end of the programme as the credits are shown, there is a view of the hospital entrance in the background and as an ambulance enters the gates it suddenly jumps forward, obviously due to a bit of poor film editing. God knows why I still remember that after 50+ years and yet I can't remember what somebody told me 2 hours ago! :D

Just reading through the thread as my mother was a big fan of EW10 and checked out your dad's films, and was surprised to see that he was in 'Eye Of The Needle' which I watched only yesterday afternoon on channel 4. Very entertaining film.
