  Nick's love for Leanne has been very consistent, when he returned re-cast he made it clear he still had feeling for her. They then reunited and had their affair behind Peter's back with Leanne ultimately chosing Peter. Nick was gutted she rejected him in favour of Peter and its been obvious that he's not stopped loving her throughout his relationships with Eva and Natasha etc.

  Surely Audrey wasn't encouraging him to go for it with Leanne just to wind up Gail, that wouldn't be very nice, why would she do that? Feel kind of sorry for Gail, her other son married someone she couldn't stand, also with a kid , now her beloved Nick is setting up home with someone else she can't stand , with her ex husband's kid in tow. She would need to be a saint to be happy about that.
