EU legislation and OFCOM rules state that any product placement shouldn't be given undue prominence which is why we've not seen Dev banging on about Nationwide Business Accounts thank God.

Think if it was allowed it'd be quite bad!

I can honestly say that unless they held it right up to the camera I wouldn't notice. I spent days trying to find the 'Visit Yorkshire' posters before I finally noticed one in the cafe.

Honestly, who the hell cares??

I watch Emmerdale as a soap, not to point out how many chuffing brand products i can see.

    This.

There has always been covert advertising on TV - products in the shops, products in the home etc. I once wrote and asked the BBC who got the payment for this, but I didn't get an answer.

Did Rhona mention Tramadol for her back pain last night?
Not sure if it is Product Placement with being a prescription drug.
Lots of stuff in David's shop now show the actual product name now.
Nothing wrong with all that as long as our Soaps don't suffer for it!

I don't mind that sort of thing as long as it adds to the authenticity. It annoys me when characters say things like 'pop' or 'cola' instead of coke, or their reading a magazine with some bizarre made -up name, like 'Hiya' or something.
