I remember a few months ago he was interviewing an actor who played a bisexual character in a film or a TV drama.
(I've forgotten who the actor was, so if somebody remembers please jog my memory)....
..and he then asked the actor if he was bisexual who he would prefer to have sex with,... himself or Judy.
The actor couldn't believe what Richard had just asked him and reminded Richard that he was straight, and that it is his fictional character who was bisexual so he really wouldn't know.
Nooo! LOL I can't believe he asked him that!
I reckon Judy should run off with Ted Robbins and leave Richard to shack up with David Walliams (who he so obviously adores). That would give the tabloids something to chew on.
hes so thick aswell when i was watching you say we pay there was a lamb chop on the screen and the woman goes oh its from a sheep you eat it and it has a bone on it and he shouts out pork chop. Thick or wot.
Mind you judy was almost as bad the other day when there was a parrot on the screen and the woman goes its a type of bird you can keep at home and pirates have them on their shoulders and judy shouts out budgie.
Yes I saw the interview he did with President Clinton and when he said, of course in my case I was telling the truth (about the shoplifting episode in his life) and you were not!! He went on and on and on about going to court, how many bottles of wine he had in the basket etc and Clinton looked absoluely STUNNED!! It must have been a first for him. It was so awful I was amazed that Judy let it go on for so long. Surely somebody in the control box must have realised how awfully embarrassing the whole thing was and stopped him in mid sentence!! He went on and on and on and on and all Clinton wanted to do was sell his book!!
he was talking to lea from big brother today n al he sed in the interview was about her boobs how long they had been like that if they were comfortable n stuf. That was al he talked about - if i wer judy i wud have been well anoyed
Even Steve Coogan says that Richard reminds him of Partridge. It's just the abruptness and the fact that Richard doesn't care about being rude to a guest or ask them an inappropriate question as long as HE gets his point across. Every interview they do is more about him and his views rather than the guests.
I remember Matt Lucas appearing a few years ago to promote the West End musical he was in - something to do with Boy George - and he wore a wig in the show. Richard said 'You look good with hair, why don't you grow your hair, it looks much better'
To which Matt Lucas replies 'It fell out when I was seven, and I don't really like talking about it.'
Today's show featured some guy from Newcastle Uni who was being interviewed on the research being done on growing sperm from stem cells. You should have seen the look on the guy's face when Richard asked him if he thought that sperm were actually capable of thought. Classic Alan Partridge moment!
David Walliams was on a few weeks ago, just before he did the channel swim. Richard got quite excited about greasing Walliams up before the attempt, you could see Walliams getting more and more embarrassed as Richard kept insisting he would be there to "lend a hand"
Paul McCartney's old guitar is being auctioned on Friday, and they have the item on the show.
Richard just had to come out with with a faux-casual "you know I play a little" and proceeded pick it up and strum away.
I really hope someone will youtube it.
FWIW the woman from the auction house has taken her look from the girlfriend in Spinal Tap, the one who took over as manager and planned the tour by horoscope.
EDIT: It's now later in the show and he had to make it clear that he played his own composition on PMc's guitar.
Did anyone see the Jennifer Aniston interview? That was cringey. They argued about how old their daughter Chloe was in front of Jennifer.
And did anyone also see the fly swatting incident right in the middle of an interview?
I love Richard Madely, he's completely hatstand. I miss their show now as I don't get home in time.
My personal favourite was the time Geoffrey Archers wife and son were on, Richard had taken an instant dislike to them (he was right there though, they were loathesome) and when poor Judy was trying to be diplomatic he just came out and said "lets face it,Geoffreys just a cheat and a liar". The look on their faces was priceless, I actually shouted at the telly "Richard, you beauty".
And of course howcould anyone forget the Ali G episode, with Me Judy, surely a TV classic.
I love this thread but hate Richard! Well not hate he just really really annoys me! He is the worst ever presenter there has ever been, he has no idea what he is talking about on hardly any subject and always manages to drop himself in it or make a comment that isn't appropriate.
The show has become tack centeral recently: Jodie Marsh last night and Abi Gak Clancy amongst other losers.
I've never liked smarmy Richard. I dislike his constant self-promotion and the way he loves to waffle on about himself at great length to anyone sat in front of him, regardless of whether or not they are interested. My God though, I never realised what a sickeningly callous man he is.
How he can treat his wife with as little respect as to talk about her experience with thrush on TV like that, or to be constantly undermining her is beyond belief.
And thats before the disgusting comments to the boy with leukaemia, the anorexic girl, Matt Lucas, the height discrimination campaigners, Kevin Wells and many more.
A truly revolting man who feels the need to talk about his sex life (Eww! by the way) and dye his hair to desperately try to look young and trendy.
I agree that he seems to be a mirror image of Partridge, at least on a cringeworthy level. However his heartless comments go far beyond anything ever dreamt up by Steve Coogan.
I wont be watching his programme and will be hoping he vacates our tv schedules in the near future.
I feel deeply sorry for his wife and really do hope she sets him straight one day in front of his beloved audience.
What gets me is that the man genuinely believes that the public see him as an incisive journalist/national treasure. Whereas the only reason the ratings are where they are is the car-crash factor of his cringeworthyness!
Me and my husband jokingly refer to 17:00 as being time to tune in for some more "Madeley Wisdom" (meant ironically, I can assure you!).
) Interviewing Kevin Wells (Holly's father) about how the family had coped since Holly's murder, Mr Wells had been talking about the need for forgiveness and attempting to move on with life in as positive a way as possible.
Richard pipes up with something like:
"as a father there must have been something almost visceral, a desire to kill the man who did this horrific and violent thing to your daughter"
I didnt know that till I read it in this thread though. Still, what an ignorant man. Apart from the "horrific and violent thing to your daughter" bit, had he not been listening to what Mr Wells had just said? Surely the first lesson in presenting school??
Comments

hope Richard Madeley continues with his 'Madeleyisms' for many years yet.
but hey crazy catz, he's just "so ferrari".

They can be so thick sometimes.
I agree i never watch their show but will be tuning in tomorrow
What did Leah say??

Two down, 19,999,998 to go to get a definitive on that.

More Richard Madely, I say!
I had to turn that off, I was so embarrased for the man
