Kurio 7 Problem.

Hi,
My sons Kurio7 has developed a strange fault. About half to three quarters of the screen has started flickering then going black. There is no bleed between the the faulty part of the image and the part thats ok, it's a straight line. It's the bottom end of the screen that's affected when it's held in portrait mode. I contacted Kurio via their website and got the bog standard "factory reset" answer.
Could a game thats been downloaded be behind this? Would resetting the pad cure this problem. The pads only a couple of months old and my son loves it so i don't really want to have to send it away to be fixed (unless thats the only option).
BTW i was sitting beside him while he was playing it when the fault happened so i know it's not through being dropped..
