Anyone seen this? I saw Peter Strickland's last feature "Berberian Sound Studio". It's an interesting film - his "Berberian Sound Studio" - a bit offbeat. It's a bit "out there" as a film. Has anyone seen this?

    No, but as it features Danish MILF Sidse Babett Knudsen I wouldn't mind seeing her.. I mean it. :D

    Positive reviews. It was on early digital release on Blinkbox but I noticed last night it has been withdrawn. DVD release late-April.

    I got the chance to see it at The Prince Charles cinema in London. It's offbeat for sure. Great and unusual sound design - as I suppose is to be expected from Strickland. Whilst I found the film interesting - it's difficult to know what to make of it. I don't know if it was intended to be a pastiche of a Euro soft porn film. The stuff about fetishes and so on was interesting - but I don't know if it was explored well.

    Its got a gr8 soundtrack by one of The Horrors.

    It was a beautiful looking and sounding movie. Certain shots were just amazing to watch. I felt it was an incredibly honest and genuine exploration of the sexual and non sexual dynamic between two people who were in a relationship. Yes there was a BDSM element but it wasn't overplayed or obsessed over like another film that shall not be named. It was as if I was present in the room watching two people going about their relationship. It felt very mature. I spent a lot of the movie trying to work out the dynamic between the couple.. which wasn't easy at times. And in the end it just felt refreshingly real. Just two people trying their best to make what they had work.

    I recommend it to anyone who wants to see a beautiful movie about a relationship. Yes theres a bit of kinky stuff in there but it's not the main focus on the movie. It's much deeper than that.
