Realised there wasn't a thread for my second favourite Breakfast tv host Charlotte Hawkins from GMB.

obviously my favourite is Susanna but Charlotte looked lovely this morning with a tad of cleavage showing.

    She's classy. Love Charlotte.

I used to cringe for her on Sky when she was stuck between the twin bag-ladies, James Whale and Eamonn Holmes on the newspaper segment, as they alternated between sexism and blatant leeriness, not neccesarily aimed at her but with no thought for her presence. I recall Eamonn being dismissive of her opinion one time and she tensed up but was too polite to respond. They ganged up on her at times I thought, all disguised as 'fun'. I bet her husband wanted to bust a few noses most mornings.

I hope she's happy in her current job.

A number of Sky/ex Sky female presenters have an annoying habit of making their mouths artificially wider when they're talking, and Hawkins is one of the worst offenders (current Sky news presenter Anna Botting is another one). I certainly prefer Hawkins to the vain and cold Reid though, even though she's fairly vacuous.

I'm starting to wonder if the Daily Mail is getting a bit carried away with Charlotte's pregnancy...

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2729850/Mum-Charlotte-Hawkins-shows-pins-patterned-minidress-nude-wedges-hosting-Good-Morning-Britain.html

I'm fairly certain she is not the first woman to get pregnant

Have to admit Charlotte really is quite stunning and with her cute little baby bump and so I guess the DM is going to be having "bump watch" as she starts getting a rapidly expanding tum, she already looks fuller in the bust department . I get the feeling she is always going to be wearing something stylish and classy however big her bump gets, don't think I've ever seen her in anything resembling a fashion disaster - I even got a nice tweet from her when I complimented on something she was wearing at a TV awards ceremony recently :)

Do have to question the DM choice of photos, they have obviously reached the level of The Sun, with the rear shot used purportedly to illustrate the zipper detail on the back of her dress although the focus of the photo is rather more on her shapely rear in a tight fitting dress :p

She has legs too... until Angela Rippon on Morecame & Wise who knew that female newsreader had them... :D

I don't doubt though that Charlotte has really boosted her profile positively, judging by all the column inches in the DM and probably OK, Hello and the like. Good Luck to her I say.

If I wasn't actually at work at the time, I might just tune in to see her on GMB... ;-)

Such bad timing as she a much better presenter than the nodding, bronze, silly faces, Ms Reid, I sure ITV would have made her the main presenter at some point if not.

I'm sure Charlotte isn't too worried about the timing, she did say in a recent interview she had no immediate plans for a family, but hey, guess that's the way nature goes.

Guess it is a bit inconvenient for ITV, but she's only going to be off screen for probably six months maternity leave, not really the end of the world. Who knows what might happen in six months anyway?

Sounds like she's pretty happy anyway.

I think she'll end up on proper Itv News like Ranvir meself.

Susanna will probably get a light hearted chat show or end up with Schofield!

I could see her on proper ITV news - and quite a career move. ITV won't lose her, she certainly seems competent and ambitious enough, she was co- presenter on Meridian Tonight for a number of years and I think was well respected before moving to the murky world of breakfast TV on Sky, I'm sure she also presented the evening news on Channel 5 at times too.

May well be with a baby her priorities will change anyway - can't imagine getting up at 2:40 is particularly conducive to a good family life.

Charlotte did indeed present Channel 5 News mid to late 2010.

I thought she did present the news on C5, whilst presenting the Breakfast News on SKY - I'm guessing that she was employed freelance at the time, I assume that she's contracted with GMB/ITV now so means she must get proper maternity benefits and leave where she wouldn't otherwise.

I see again in the Daily M**l today they have obviously been camping outside the ITV studios again, we have bump watch, fashion watch and obligatory shot of her rear as she gets in to her car. I'm afraid that I had to add my comments to their sudden obsession over her  can't they just leave the poor girl alone without analysing every minute detail of her appearance, there's a piece in the editorial about some comment Charlotte has made in The Telegraph over how women are treated or perceived on TV... says the DM publishing two photos of her bum in a tight dress... >:(

I think you will find Sky did and possible still do provide C5's news as I've seen a few other Sky presenters on there.

found the full article from the Telegraph that was quoted in the DM, so I know what the context was.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/10991946/Charlotte-Hawkins-Im-surprised-people-dont-hate-me.html

I don't see how anyone could hate Charlotte and actually I don't think I've heard that about her and Susanna being rivals, I think they are both very different people and obviously differing popularities. I don't know about her and Eamonn as I didn't watch Sunrise, but remembering her from her days at Meridian Tonight, I think she always had a rapour and chemistry with her co-presenters.

I guess GMB is just different, have to say it was rather strange to get a tweeted reply from her whilst she was still on air!

    I concur :)
I can live with the DM printing a story 'just to advertsie the dress/clothes' on their website, but this fascination with Charlotte and her 'bump' & 'bum' is (must not swear!) pathetic!
If this is what journalism has become, God help us!

obviously the photographers have not wanted to be standing around outside the studios in the pouring rain today then... :D

Have to admit, haven't actually appreciated just how pretty Charlotte is, and only ever seeing her sat behind a desk or on a sofa she does have a nice bum too... But for a "serious" newspaper like the DM they seem to latch on to someone, Charlotte still such has a trim figure and still hardly betraying that she is pregnant, so guess we are still going to get updates until she gives birth in February and then everything else that goes with it after that...

Nice to see Charlotte appears to be very down to earth, when I think of other celebs who take to the likes of OK or Hello! to announce they're expecting with a four page exclusive and a huge money deal. Brave of her to make the announcement live on air the way she did, don't know if it was planned but guess it was nerve-racking.

I wonder if she is tied to GMB or with ITV, when she was with Sky she had quite a range things she presented apart from the news - classical music concerts and things for Sky Arts, so would be a shame for her talents to be wasted just on Breakfast TV.
