If you protest too long the public gets bored of it, ie Hong Kong the protesters just kept sitting and sitting until the media moved on, the public got bored and they were just ushered away.

Protest if it goes on too long ends up alienating the people they want support from.

The Saynotopage3 people now need to sit back for a while and then start again or else the public support will just get fed up and look for the next protest.

Why don't you offer to be their media consultant?

I'm sure they'd welcome your advice and support.

Ah, the mythical "PC brigade" again! Here are the facts:

"NMP3 isn’t asking for censorship, or for an Act of Parliament to force the editor of The Sun to scrap Page Three.

NMP3 is asking, politely that page 3 be removed voluntarily."
    http://nomorepage3.org/faqs-2/

Whether they buy the paper or not is irrelevant.

and the editor has politely said it will not be by putting it on today.

Protester asked politely the editor says no.

That should be the end of it.

And they have in the same polite monor been declined there request so why carry it on unless they want the paper to be forced into giving in?.

    1903

Emmeline Pankhurst asks the Government if ladies can vote.

    Government says 'no'.

Emmeline Pankhurst says 'well, that's the end of it'.

    And the rest isn't history.

Not more white knighting? You can say the same about the NMP3 censors.

Not really, the joke wouldn't work. Unless you know some really weird babies.

Oh no! please spare us their FAQ page which quite frankly is a pile of poo. The NMP3's stock response to everything seems to be to copy and paste that FAQ link. I'm like 'yeah i have read it ten times already, and it's still a load of nonsense'

Oh and did any of them condemn Caroline Lucas calling for a ban? No they didn't, they couldn't praise for her:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtVFLH4jPLU&noredirect=1

They must think people are really stupid if they think they are going to fall for this asking nicely charade. Of course they want it banned.

I hope the s*n readers are happy, i hope they gloat, i hope they all wank each other endlessly into their page 3 pullout. With company like Kelvin RATBAG Mckenzie, Murdoch, and everyone who was responsible for the Hillsborough reporting...you all deserved each others company.

    bitter much?

Caroline Lucas was wearing her NMP3 t-shirt when she said:

"So if page three still hasn't been removed from The Sun by the end of this year, I think we should be asking the government to step in and legislate,"

The PC brigade wanting to dictate from on high what we should think, say and see.

When did feminism become about telling women what they can do with their bodies and what careers they can choose to follow? Someone should remind these puritans that there is nothing "unclean " about the female body or human sexuality.

Well done the Sun for putting these puritan fundamentalists in their place. ;-)

I absolutely agree. Sex and sexuality shaming is bad.

I also think the tabloids' attitude to women is genuinely appalling and harmful and the fact they don't treat male nudity in the same manner shows them up as sexist dinosaurs. Page 3 and continuing to show naked women doesn't make The Sun in any way supportive of women or progressive.

Of course to solve this issue you don't actually have to get rid of pictures of naked women.

Good for her, I'll have a listen to that tonight :) Am I right in thinking from the comments on that video that Germaine Greer supports page 3?

They are like a little cult of permanently offended petitioners. Their argument is so pathetic they need to invoke the hysteria of 'won't somebody think about the children!' When you concede ground to these type of people they won't be satisfied with just that, they'll go on a crusade about something else they don't like and try to ban it.

They are they are taking credit for Sky's internet porn protector, the demise of lad mags and moving newspapers in supermarkets.

Mrs Completely Ordinary with "no top on" wouldn't make it as far as page 21.

They might if they had a makeover, judging by some of the pictures that are on the net of Britney Spears and Cameron Diaz (for example) without their slop on.

Watch a makeover show and you'll see what I mean.

I've skipped through the rest of the bickering and poster character judgements. It's like a school playground on here sometimes.

The work of a feminist is never done, they still have to pay for tampons. Men should be paying for those as well! Women still go to prison, still a lot of work to be done there. Women earn less than men over a life time due to part time work and having children so they need to be paid more than men when they are in work, although this has been achieved.

BIB and by those who are scared of a certain type of woman - usually a woman with a mind of her own and not willing to take sh*t from certain types of men such as some on this thread. They know who they are

er you say that but then you are the one who seems scared that women can make the choice to pose topless in a newspaper. I think you will find that page 3 models have minds of their own too.

    Scared - not at all.

Well done the Sun, for pretending to pander to the NMP3 brigade then re-introducing a great British tradition. A masterstroke in marketing and annoying the feminists at the same time, and making a politician look stupid. Applause all round!

You'll equally find these men won't be 'taking shit' from angry feminists jumping up and down and stamping their feet wanting their own way.
