So did I. I can't believe there are people humanising wild animals. It should actually be illegal.

My friend sent me this link.

Anyone who seriously finds it acceptable to dress up a wild animal in nappies, bow ties and dresses etc etc is clearly a sandwich short of a picnic and should buy themselves a doll to dress up instead....

I was just wondering Harris_O7,after your confused ranting; first about buying a monkey, then about adopting one,now you're back to dressed-up monkeys-are you doing this just to wind people up or are you really that stupid...?

IMO everything posted by Harris_07 was a wind up in this thread.

I agree, that picture was horrific.

    I'll tell her that.

I was actually highlighting the point that many people have already made that dressing up animals is wrong.

Believe it or not, I'm not trying to wind anyone up. I asked a question, got told that it would be wrong and then considered adopting. Now I post what most people think is "wrong" and I have to explain my case.

I'm leaning towards London Zoo to adopt from.

Do you guys know any other places in London where you can adopt monkeys (legally)?

Does that allow visits to go and see the adopted animal?

I'm not sure about that but you could contact them direct and ask.

Most zoos have animal adoption schemes, including monkeys and primates. I think there is also one charity that lets you adopt a young orphaned primate at a rehabilitation unit - orang utans spring to mind.

That website upthread was really disturbing. Monkeys are lovely enough without being turned into weird hairy little mini humans. I would question the sanity of anyone who did that.
