Sheltered life, or are far all sites choosing to now serve you 'desktop mode' ?

What is fascinating is that Apple is forcing sites to change, never themselves giving users any choice in Safari.

How do you work that one out? It sounds like you won't admit to just being totally wrong!!

Web-sites have defaulted to serving desktop content to my iPad using Safari since I first got one two years ago!!!!

    Strange,

FOr a test I just switched my browser user agent to iPad, went to the home page(DigitalSpy.co.uk) and I'm now in the mobile version!
Never seen that before and it feels slightly quicker. less data obviously.

This is the one I used
    "Mozilla/5.0(iPad; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.21.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.4 Mobile/7B314 Safari/531.21.10"

    OK,

now switched to the IOS 7 iPad agent and I now get a full screen desktop mode. (with a bigger than usual advert - for an iPad app). The smaller Flash based advert box has disappeared.
