I like the fact that he bloody well GOES for it as a rich man, doesn't drown in 'good taste', or pretend he doesn't have it.

And he's got family sadness, there's no money can help with that.

    I like him.

I hope she bunged him some money.

He feels like a flamin' person, part of society, it's not just about 'spending', he's got to live.

I don't relate to this label stuff, at all. I don't understand it.

No you don't know you've got quality, you just know you've spent loads and equally foolish people will be envious.

    People have different tastes.

For a family that like to be a bit tight with their money, they've sure got a house full of tat, they could have saved a fortune if they didn't buy all that.

That sort of money needs someone with extravagant taste to use it properly - go for flamin' broke. Look at some of the stately homes, we only think it's 'good taste' because it's old.:D

£400 for Christmas? I'd call that a lot. I probably spend less than £100.

I much prefer the attitude of the poorer couple. I'm always on the hunt for a bargain!

The downfall of the bargain hunter. Too much foolish tat.

Best is to find bargains that are real - things you really like and want and are great quality.

At least with boots if you've wasted your cash, it won't be much, and you can reboot or go to the tip without too much worry.

You can pick up bargains from car boots and charity shops, you can even make money if you find the right items :)

I'm with her - main shop at Tesco but you can't beat Waitrose for treats.

And they are twee and dull and safe, those curtains. Mine should be hung in a castle - half price though.

The only thing I've ever spent a lot on is houses, but they make money too. I do spend a lot on food, but that's more quantity and fresh produce, rather than premium brands.
