    Lets see here... :p

    1) How many pets do you have?
    42 (...ish.)

    2) What kind of pets do you have?
guinea pigs, rabbits, mice, hamster, quail, dog, budgie, fish, snake.

    3) Do you look after/feed the wildlife (i.e birds) in your garden?
    in winter

3a) If so what and what products and brands do you use?
birds, a seed that the local pet shop weigh down into paper bags, live meal worms & suet pellets

    4)How old is your pet(s)?
guineas range from 1 year to 5 years
rabbits are from <1 year to 5 years
    dog is 4
    budgie around 3
    hamster is 10 months
mice range from 10 weeks to a year
my snake is estimated to be around 5 and a half
and the quail are 1.5 years and 2.5 years.

    5) Do any of your pets have special needs? (e.g diabetes, diet)
    No

    5a)If so what?

    6) Do you run or work on a farm? (if no skip to question 7)
no (though i would like to)

6a) What kind of animals do you have on your farm?

6b) What products do you buy the most for your animals?

6c) What products would you like to see on my website that you could purchase to help your animals?

    7) What kind of food do you feed your pet the most? (i.e wet, dry, fresh)
    Dry

    8) What brands do you usually go for?
I use Wagg bunny brunch, guinea crunch and adult dry dog food.
Wilkos own budgie seed, and vitakraft seed sticks
wilkos own budgie seed and finch seed mixed together with a chick crumb from the local pet store mixed in for the quail
i use a "country value" bulk bag of hamster and gerbil mix for the smaller rodents.
King british fish flakes and ALF frozen foods (blood worm/daphnia)

    9) How much would you say you spend on your pets food monthly?
hay, fresh food and all included for the rabbits and guineas is around £15
dog £5, probably with another £5 on treats
budgie & quail <£3 including millet and treat sticks
    mice, hamster about £3
    fish <£1

    10) If you were to visit my website, what kind of thing would you specifically be looking for on there to buy?
probably small rodent & bird accessories, feeding bowls, reptile accessories & decor, dog toys/collars & leads and training treats and tools.
    bulk small rodent food

11)What kind of products would you like to see on there? (that you may not see anywhere else or are hard fot you to find elsewhere)
what i would really like to see for sale out there are guinea pig accessories that will actually fit a guinea pig in them, my guineas aren't especially porky, but they often struggle to get into/out of the shop bought accessories i've gotten them which are supposedly designed for guinea pigs

oh, and appropriately sized hamster wheels for syrian hamsters, as the standard sized ones are often too small, where as rat ones are too large, you can get a size in between, but in the 4 years i've been keeping hamsters, i've managed to find one, once at the range and nowhere else.
thankfully the hams haven't completely destroyed it over the years

I would also LOVE to see more welfare friendly rabbit hutches around for sale, as well as guinea pig hutches
as most of the ones you can buy locally are far too small to house the animals alone, let alone if someone gets a pair.

    12) Would you benefit from special offers and/or bulk buying?
    probably

    12a) If so, what?
dog treats are always a good place for these, as they can often be expensive and any special offers are useful
    i always bulk buy foods.

    and finally.....

    13) Any feedback and/or suggestions and/or ideas for my site? (this would be very helpful).

none at the moment, sorry :)

Maybe cutesy stuff for puppies that is a bit different or unusual. When we were getting our puppy it was like kitting out for a new baby, we wanted him to have nice stuff. Bundles that give better value i.e. bed, bowl, brush, lead, and poo sacks, something like that.

....Hello, I'm NooksCranny and I am currently in the process of starting up my own pet supplies website and wondered if you could answer these questions to help provide you and any of my potential customers with the best service and products possible :)

    1) How many pets do you have?
    One.

    2) What kind of pets do you have?
    Cat.

    3) Do you look after/feed the wildlife (i.e birds) in your garden?

    Yes, we feed the birds.

3a) If so what and what products and brands do you use?
We have a seed feeder, a peanut feeder, and an apple feeder, plus the recent purchase of a feeding 'station'. All supermarket own-brand and Wilkos, cheap but they do the job! :D

    4)How old is your pet(s)?
    16.

    5) Do any of your pets have special needs? (e.g diabetes, diet)
    Yup.

    5a)If so what?
She has hyperthyroidism, so has a tablet most days.

    6) Do you run or work on a farm? (if no skip to question 7)

6a) What kind of animals do you have on your farm?

6b) What products do you buy the most for your animals?

6c) What products would you like to see on my website that you could purchase to help your animals?

    7) What kind of food do you feed your pet the most? (i.e wet, dry, fresh)
Dry food (wet as treats daily)

    8) What brands do you usually go for?
Science Diet (Sheba as treats daily)

    9) How much would you say you spend on your pets food monthly?

Um, maybe around £46? Not sure exactly.

    10) If you were to visit my website, what kind of thing would you specifically be looking for on there to buy?
Food, treats, cat toys, cat 'accessories' (like bowls and stuff, not ribbons and shoes)

11)What kind of products would you like to see on there? (that you may not see anywhere else or are hard for you to find elsewhere)
Can't think of anything right now, will amend if I do!

    12) Would you benefit from special offers and/or bulk buying?
I think everyone would benefit from special offers! Only the one cat, so bulk buying is unnecessary.

    12a) If so, what?

Special offers in general help everyone :)

    and finally.....

    13) Any feedback and/or suggestions and/or ideas for my site? (this would be very helpful).
Can't think of anything to hand, but once your site's in 'beta' (or whatever you call nearly-ready in internet speak) I'd be happy to take a look and give you feedback/suggestions/ideas then :)

From one animal lover to another, thank you for taking the time to answer my survey :)

Good luck with the site! :)

    1) How many pets do you have?

3 cats and 6 pond fish

    2) What kind of pets do you have?

    As above

    3) Do you look after/feed the wildlife (i.e birds) in your garden?

    In the colder months, yes

3a) If so what and what products and brands do you use?

I just buy what I see in supermarkets or garden centres, generally bird seeds - I don't go for any brands. My mum is obsessive about feeding the birds on her farm and she buys a mixture of seeds, nuts and suet, spending over £30/month, she loves the wild birds - and there are lots of them around!

    4)How old is your pet(s)?

Bernard is now over 6, Millie and Lucy are 1, my current batch of pond fish are about 3 - 4 years old

    5) Do any of your pets have special needs? (e.g diabetes, diet)

Bernard is supposed to be on a diet and I have low calorie food for him but he finishes the other cats' leftovers - I can't always stop him because he can be a bit sneaky. He also has the oral care Science Plan dry food because his teeth are in poor condition but the vet won't do a dental because she says he's too fat

    5a)If so what?
    As above

    6) Do you run or work on a farm? (if no skip to question 7)

No - my parents do, they own a farm in Ireland

6a) What kind of animals do you have on your farm?

    Nowadays, just cattle

6b) What products do you buy the most for your animals?

Cat food, fish food, flea and worming treatment etc.

6c) What products would you like to see on my website that you could purchase to help your animals?

I rarely use websites to buy anything. I can't think of anything that I can't procure from a local store. I've use the Petmate website for procuring spare bowls for my automatic cat feeder and for sending me parts when my cat flap breaks. I also ordered some spare collar magnets recently

    7) What kind of food do you feed your pet the most? (i.e wet, dry, fresh)

A mixture of wet and dry for my cats. I don't eat meat myself so never buy fresh meat

    8) What brands do you usually go for?

Science Plan dry food and wet pouches (usually Whiskas as all 3 cats like that brand)

    9) How much would you say you spend on your pets food monthly?

I don't really want to work it out because I think it's probably quite a lot.

    10) If you were to visit my website, what kind of thing would you specifically be looking for on there to buy?

Sorry, I don't usually use websites. When I reserved my 2 new cats I went on a shopping spree in Pets at Home and spent over £180 on cat bed, enclosed litter tray, cat litter, extra scratching posts, collars and Science Plan and Hills food. Also litter tray liners, food bowls, deodoriser and cat toys. Those are the type of items I'd have been interested in if I lived somewhere remote or didn't have a car.

11)What kind of products would you like to see on there? (that you may not see anywhere else or are hard fot you to find elsewhere)

I live outside Watford, on the borders with London, so have good access to lots of shops. I can't think of anything I might need  It might be different if I was living where my parents live in rural Ireland - but even they have a fairly well stocked pet store near them.

    12) Would you benefit from special offers and/or bulk buying?

    I rarely bulk buy.

    12a) If so, what?

Perhaps dry cat food. My friend bulk buys cat litter - she doesn't have a car - so makes one big shop with a friend with a car.

    and finally.....

    13) Any feedback and/or suggestions and/or ideas for my site? (this would be very helpful).

As others, it's difficult to give feedback without seeing the framework.

    Good luck

    1) How many pets do you have?
    Four

    2) What kind of pets do you have?
    2 dogs, 2 cats

    3) Do you look after/feed the wildlife (i.e birds) in your garden?
    Yes, in the winter

3a) If so what and what products and brands do you use?
No idea, just whatever's in Asda, Morrisons, Pets At Home

    4)How old is your pet(s)?
    Dogs - 8 and 2, cats - 11 and 12

    5) Do any of your pets have special needs? (e.g diabetes, diet)
    No

    6) Do you run or work on a farm? (if no skip to question 7)
    No

    7) What kind of food do you feed your pet the most? (i.e wet, dry, fresh)
Dogs - dry, one cat - just dry (she won't eat meat), the other cat wet, though she sometimes nicks her sister's dry food she's not a big fan.

    8) What brands do you usually go for?
Dogs - James Wellbeloved, Wagg and Burgess Supadog Greyhound and Lurcher.
Cats - Purina One, Go Cat and Whiskers dry. Every brand of wet food there is, apart from Whiskers - always pouches or trays, never tins.

    9) How much would you say you spend on your pets food monthly?
    Too much ;)

    10) If you were to visit my website, what kind of thing would you specifically be looking for on there to buy?
Large bags of Wellbeloved and Burgess, if it was cheaper with postage than in the shops. Puffed Jerky dog treats, can't them in the shops round here - I'm getting them off Ebay at the moment. Dog toys. Dog coats.

11)What kind of products would you like to see on there? (that you may not see anywhere else or are hard fot you to find elsewhere)
Puffed Jerky dog treats. Lurcher coats (winter, fleece, rain, hi vis) - we're always hunting online for reasonably priced lurcher coats, they get torn and/or lost quite often.

    12) Would you benefit from special offers and/or bulk buying?
    Yes
    12a) If so, what?
It'd save having to lug large bags of dog food (and maybe cat litter) from the supermarket, but it would depend on postage of course.

    13) Any feedback and/or suggestions and/or ideas for my site? (this would be very helpful).
Make sure it has a simple to use navigation structure and a clear faqs section with postage, delivery times, returns policy and contact details all easy to find. There's nothing more off putting in an online shop than having to hunt for the postage and returns details.
Test the site to death, get everyone you know and everyone they know to test it before it goes live. Make sure it's as user friendly with all levels of computing skills as possible.
Keep postage as low as possible, and delivery times as short as possible.

Good luck, post a link to the site once it's in beta and we can help test it for you.

    As above

    12) Would you benefit from special offers and/or bulk buying?
No, my cats change their mind so frequently about what they like to eat that I have given up bulk buying their food. As soon as I would bulk buy they would decide they didn't like that specific brand anymore.

    and finally....

    13) Any feedback and/or suggestions and/or ideas for my site? (this would be very helpful).
No suggestions, just to wish you good luck with it.
