Has Emmerdales Paddy had an accident?

Just been watching the last episode and when Paddy hugged Marlon there looked to be quite a big sore patch on the back of his head. It looks like the hair may have been shaved off recently around the patch but is growing back.
Anyone got any ideas or knowledge of this?

    Maybe he slipped on some ice recently. Wouldnt be surprised, that stuff is dangerous.

    Wouldn't those scenes have been filmed back in October though?
