I, for one, hope he gets it and is a big success - if only to stick two fingers up to the vociferous minority of scrotes on these boards who have treated him appallingly in the past. They sullied the reputation of DS and should feel ashamed of themselves for some of the things they posted about his private life. Alas, judging from the evidence above, it seems some haven't learned any lessons from that debacle.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. And to accuse other fm's of shameful vociferous comments, when you then go on to call them 'scrotes', is somewhat hypocritical.

Pot, kettle and black spring to mind. ;)

Talk about a negative thread. No support at all from many of you for a fellow countryman to do good. What gives?

Many well-known actors started out in Soaps. Once they get their footing and build up some work, they move on. I'm not familiar with this actor as I don't watch EastEnders, but he's young which means that he is still at the building stage of his acting career. If he is serious about his craft, then chances are good that he may make it in the industry. Of course, he'll have to struggle for the chance at grabbing the brass ring. It is all part of the process. If he's only looking for fame, then his career will be short lived. It appears that he is trying out for said film (him along with hundreds of others). That's tough.

Anyway, why so negative? Unless, of course, you guys just don't like him in which case what I said above means nothing to you. ;):p

Squiggle your response is commendable and normally I would give actors a second chance. Heath Ledger was terrible when he started out.

However, you admit you have not seen Chris Parkers acting. I on the other hand was confronted with Spencer Moon 4 times a week for more than 2 years. I do not deserve any more punishment. I'd rather watch Jodie Marsh in a porno.

Oh dear apparently I'm a scrote.

Though I mainly only target his acting I admit as funny as it was The I Hate Spencer Moon thread did go a bit far. Mind that was before DS got scared - no one got banned the thread just got pulled after Parker complained.

Spencer Moon is a respectable porn name, maybe he can fall back onto it if his 'big break' fails.

I was merely employing the methods and morals of those who have been so nasty about Mr. Parker in the past and used it against them to see how they like it.

From the evidence of your response, I would suggest not very much.

Nope, not at all. I just get exasperated by fms coming on here on their moral high ground, accusing others of vociferous comments, moaning about the content of this particular forum and then calling fms names. By all means disagree as that's what a forum is for, but don't start flinging insults around. :)

Actually it is against the infamous Ts & Cs to flame fellow FM's and that includes calling them names.

Ive seen far worse written about other Celebs on these boards than Chris Parker. He just seems a tad over sensitive to me.

If he's got a film role then fine good for him, but I couldn't count the number of British soap actors who've made it in Hollywood on my right hand. I don't like him and never have, I assume we are still allowed to have an opinion in this forum??

Yes, I must admit to not liking being compared to a little hairy ball.

    :p:D

Not sure that the female equivalent is any better though.

An opinion? Good grief woman, where do you think you are? A discussion forum??

I believe it's already been established by the literati among us that none of us are entitled to any opinions unless they are favourable to celebrities!

Go and wash your mouth out this instant young lady!

Having just checked him out on IMDB, he doesn't exactly have a stunning CV in this country. Good luck to him if he thinks he can make it 'big' in Hollywood .

I have seen him acting very badly on Eastenders and a washing powder advert and dancing very badly on Strictly Come Dancing. Has he actually done anything else?

Could it concievably be to do with the fact he can't act and would be lucky to get a job as third sheep in Walford Primary's nativity play?:D

if you subscribe to IMBD Pro you can pay £20 and put pictures on actors sites and update them as long as it's accurate information. I am add a picture to Chris Parkers profile for £20 or something. Not that i would!!!!

That's true. Some I can think of straight away are:
    • Julian McMahon - played Ben in Home & Away many moons ago, & is now doing great things in Nip/Tuck as Christian Troy. His other 'claim to fame' is that he used to be married to Dannii Minogue.
    • Alan Dale - played Jim Robinson in Neighbours. Is now in masses of American shows, including The O.C., Navy NCIS, CSI Miami, West Wing & 24.
    • Guy Pearce - played Mike Young in Neighbours. Has since been in several films, including LA Confidential, Rules of Engagement & Memento.
    • Vinnie Jones - used to be a footballer with Wimbledon, but has now appeared in several projects, including Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Gone in 60 Seconds & Snatch.
Sorry, couldn't resist that last one. :D

Agreed, however there has to be a modicum of talent present in the first place.
