I heard the sad news that this great French artist died recently.
I loved the mini-series of the Silver Surfer that he did with Stan Lee many years ago and lots of his other work.

    The notable thing about him was that he was pretty much the only comics artist still active* who had two completely different styles and actually worked under two names. Jean Giraud, who did the painstakingly realist western series Blueberry - using old photographs and his own travels to show 19th century America - and Moebius, the weird, wild, pyschedelic science fiction stylist.

    * Yes I know Kirby and others did that back in the 50s and 60s
