We sang hymns all the time when I was at first school in the late 90s. It wasn't a faith school. They were sung from time to time in middle school. We didn't do them in high school - this was by the mid noughties.
I'd be surprised if they are still being sung regularly in any non-faith schools now.
No doubt you would then be even more surprised to learn that all non-faith schools still have to provide a daily act of worship by law.
I suspect a lot of people would be.
I think singing hymns are stupid. The songs are daft, badly written, badly rhymed and are tiresome.
Most kids hated singing them and it shouldn't be forced upon anyone. The songs are tedious, all about Jesus and all that crap which doesn't need to be shoved down kids throats anymore now that the human race is smart enough to see that it is bollocks.
Although i haven't been to a school which sings hymns for 10 years my little sister has informed me they still do it at her school. Some pupils are escorted out of the assembly because they are other religions which makes the thing mealiness. Plus on a side note, any pupil should be able to opt out because it's unfair that a foreign child can just because he was forced to have another religion.

I agree that you don't like them

Roflmao
You must be taking some kind of whacky baccy if you seriously believe that this country of non-believers would convert en masse to any religion.
By 2050 the majority of people will have a puzzled expression on their face if you ask them what religion they are.
Like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken
Like the first bird
With the backing track of a hundred squeaky recorders
I quite like that one, I hope it isn't calling for me to be stoned to death because i'm living in sin but it is catchy.
Strawberries sweeter than thou ever seen.
I think we sang Psalm 23 once.
