Well they don't like to be seen as the farming soap, they barley make refrences to characters, who was not introduced past 1994. And when they celebrated there 40th a few years ago, and did ED at 40 programme, there was no mention of the history of ED untill 1994, when the show had been going for 22 years, and already had a lot of history.

Okay, what year did they drop "Farm" from the title?
I think EE are proud of there history and sometimes go overboard with how proud they are, DTC however is not very proud of there history and changed it to suit himself.
HO struggle to make refrences to the past, with majority of the cast only being there for a maximum of five years.

Yes EastEnders is always referencing the past, you can't fault it for that.
Yeah they are the polar opposite of ED and HO, in that matter.
True but IRL people don't constantly reference the past, only when It's relevant. ED do do it, for example when Carly told Marlon about her baby that died, he mentioned that Laurel had been through the same thing (Baby Daniel died in 2007)
I do agree though, they could do it a bit more often.
With the long process that all of the scripts have to go through, you would've thought that It would've been flagged up by someone, It looked really bad.
Apparently Michael Le Vel pointed it out but he was ignored.
