I've never tried Leighton Denny, I'm assuming it's good. I'm currently trying to save my money, so no more nail varnishes for me at the moment.

On a side note, my Nail Envy and Avoplex to Go has arrived, and I can see a difference already. Fantastic stuff!

Barry M have a whole new range - not just Copper (which I bought today, and is GORGEOUS!) There's a silvery lilac (which looks just like Butter London's Knackered, only less sheer)
I think I've seen this one on a blog. If it is that one it looks gorgeous, definitely one on my list.

The magnetics look great because the lids all have different shape magnets. I got the red one, with diagonal straight line magnet - the other ones have a criss cross pattern, a star that's a bit like a union jack, and something else. Maybe horizontal straight lines, I can't remember. I think it's really good that there are some other shapes out there, all the other magnetics I've seen have that wavy line pattern, which is fine, but gets a bit dull.
I really want the magnetics too. I have three magnetic polishes from other brands (17 and Nails Inc) and they're all the wavy lines so I want to try the other patterns. Though it might just be cheaper to get these.

I was really impressed with the Beetlejuice polishes, and the Accessorize ones were absolutely beautiful.

I just bought three of the China Glaze Hunger Games 'Capitol Colors' set on BuyaPowa - currently £17.50 for the three (but will probably go down to £16.50). They're available at this price for 20 more hours or until they sell out at http://www.buyapowa.com/ref/nuhsNZ

I've bought from BuyaPowa a few times - most of their products are make up - and they're really good and you can get a real bargain. :D

In fact, ignore my above post, it's too late to edit it!

Is luxe and lush similar to andrea fulerton's gemstone overcoat? I've got that in my amazon basket, :) Just waiting to be paid, haha!

I think they're a bit different. Similar in that they're both 'flakies', but different colours. I could be wrong though. :p

I'm buying the China Glaze trio pretty much because I want Luxe and Lush. :D Also because I don't have any China Glaze varnishes.

If you layer Indian ocean over vivid purple, you get one very similar to pinky brown, just with a pinker tinge in the light :)

I haven't had many nights out this month so I splurged on GOSH 549. It cost me £26 but it's so worth it - it looks really amazing! :D

I got Barry M Lilac foil and gold foil (buy 2 save £1) at Superdrug. Also Max Factor minis Meteorite and Fantasy Fire £2.99 instead of £3.99 each at Superdrug.

Just done my nails in the lilac. Such a smooth application. Just picking a holo to do my ring finger with.

Wowsers, sounds like a pretty good haul Jane! Well done for finding those!

I've only tried one Leighton Denny, a pale minty green. It was ok, but very streaky, but I think that's normal for that sort of colour to be honest.

I got a bit carried away with my snooker nails this year:

I have a problem in which I only will wear pink nail polish! I've tried gold it didn't feel right, the brand was GOSH and the colour looked gorgeous but I just felt a bit "odd" wearing it. I also bought a "Greige" Chanel polish and I felt like my hands were frumpy! lol. I hate red but someone bought me that bright fire engine red shade by Barry M and I felt like a ****ing tart so I removed it right away!

It's funny how we all have certain preconceived ideas about stuff like this - and they're usually totally wrong, but it's hard to change our mindsets. I don't like wearing makeup, and when I do, I feel 'tarty' or 'a bit common' - I think because when I wanted to start wearing makeup when I was 13 or so, my mother had made comments about that. I was talking to a friend recently, and she said that whenever she wears red, she feels like a tart. I asked if she thought I looked tarty as I wear red a lot, and she said no. She asked if I thought she looked tarty (she wears a lot of makeup) and I said no.

I'll tell you what I think looks cheap and tarty in terms of nails! Those very square extensions with very white fake tips, and sometimes a cheap plastic pattern in black or sparkles down the side! Red nails can look very elegant and classy, I think!
Look at Scrangie's reds! Not a tart in sight:

Give them another go! I've never found them to be streaky, but I've also never used the really pale colours like that one! Try something like Miss Behavin (very dark blue, one of my faves) I've always found that goes on like a dream!

It also looks a lot like Pinky Brown if you layer it on black - just a bit deeper.

bought some of the 2true ones today, 3 for £5 to try out, got a topcoat, burgundy one and a lilacy blue one, and then went to tk maxx and found an andrea fulerton set of - petrol in water, topcoat, nailfiles, holographic glitter, and a peach colour, for £7.99 (which is what petrol in water costs on its own in superdrug!)

I wish I lived near a TK Maxx - the closest one to me is about an hour's drive and the two times I went there wasn't much make up.

Re. the Accessorize nail varnishes - I bought one called Mermaid, I think, and it's really gorgeous.
