I don't think she was drowing Sir Stu.. merely trying to get her face covered so I *cough* I mean you could lick it off :D but welcome to the jacuzzi ;)

*Takes swig of champagne and a chocolate covered strawberry that Sir Mordred has offered me*

*Settles himself into jacuzzi, sips at a very nice single malt and looks doubtfully at the two large blobs of chocolate sitting opposite to him that must be m'lady star and m'lady Morgana because their voices seem to be coming from that direction* :D

Is that you in there, Star? Morgsy? :D

    Safe in your memory . . . . ;)

Although with your hot date next Saturday, Keren cornering Uther in the throne room, and what the last knight did in NOTRT, it's only fitting that we all end the evening covered in warm chocolate with the attention of the scantily clad knights . . . :)

Ahem, I'm just going to play 'hunt the flake' with Sir Gwaine and Sir Leon on this side of the jacuzzi. :D

*Raises eyebrow in effort to look disapproving but is hopelessly out-gunned by two pairs of puppy dog eyes looking appealingly back at him through the chocolate :D Realizes hopelessness of his position, pours himself another malt and sinks deeper into chocolate* :D

    So I see, m'lady :D

I'm not sure Uther would want me cornering him after I've just spent all night saying I want him dead. Maybe that could be the ending - I could shag him to death! He could have a heart attack mid shag - what a brilliant ending that would be, then Arthur would become king and marry me. :D

Sir Mordred has kindly offered to help me clean off all of this chocolate later. What a gentleman :)

 Bit twisted Keren. :p Is Arthur likely to want to marry someone who killed his dad with sex?

If you want THAT, then I think you need to find a different author . . .

Can you not go back to thinking about him topless?

And yes, of COURSE Arthur would want to marry the woman who's just killed his father by sexicide . . .

    Sigh.

On another point: I think the thing about Gaius is he is meant to be flawed. Isn't that the whole point of his character? He is a mentor to Merlin, so he has this positive side to him ie he has knowledge that Merlin needs, and he has experience and wisdom to counteract Merlin's youth and impetuosity, but he also has a negative side to him in that he has a shady past. I think without that shady past he would be a much less interesting character and would have been written out of the show well before its end. But as it is, you need him as a counterweight to Merlin, both in terms of his gravitas, but also in terms of his morally dubious past.

Something like that anyway. (It's years since I studied English or had to write a learned argument, but I feel something of what I have written is valid.)

Anyway, I like Gaius, but it is the liking you have for a character that is flawed, not the hero-worship I feel for a character like Merlin who I feel can do no wrong. I know you lot don't agree with me on that point, but anyway....:p

Totally agree Avi. I've always thought that they used Gaius to demonstrate that even people who are thought of as "good" have things they've done which could be considered as villainous. Gaius is what Merlin could have been had he not had a "Gaius" to guide him in those earliest days when he was first learning to use his power to incant spells rather than just innately.
He's made mistakes (as Merlin will do), he's done some dodgy things for what he believed was the best reasons (as Merlin will do), he's been ruthless when he's needed to (as Merlin will do). He's basically the adult version of the original Welsh Merlin mythology when he's willing to do all kinds of things in the name of magic because Vortigern is threatening to kill his mother if he doesn't.

Well quite! Although it could make an interesting anecdote for the wedding speeches ;)

    *snort* sexicide! Hee hee! :D

Hey Cadiva, are you coming to join us in the chocolate jacuzzi? You have sadly missed the COCK show, but you can still grab Sir Leon's sword if you like. I've been holding it all evening so you're welcome to have a turn. :D

Well of course Arthur won't find out! He'll just think Uther collapsed and had a heart attack whilst he was sitting on the throne. But yes, I suppose it is a bit twisted, even for me. ;)

It's a comfort to this old knight to know that the age of chivalry isn't dead with guys like Mordred around :D

*Starts to nod and get sleepy......can't be bothered to get out of jacuzzi and go home to bed...mumbles to Morgana to make sure Aithusa keeps the chocolate sauce warm or I'll wake up in the middle of a giant Walnut Whip (minus the walnut) in the morning* :D

    G'night All :)

PS: Let me know what happened after I nodded off tomorrow...unless there was a fight, in which case I don't want to know :D

Keren, given my earlier unpleasant experience, I'd like you to arrange for Sir Percival to guard my chambers tonight. It would be very reassuring to have him present, but tell him he can leave his bagpipes . . . I shall make sure he has plenty to suck, squeeze, finger and blow :)

    Goodnight my lady. :)

We're actually going to pop over to the whipped cream seeing as Sir Stu and Morgana have decided to sleep in the chocolate, but I will certainly have Gwaine lick me clean before we climb in bed. I may ask Elyan for his assistance too. :D

Of course, your highness, Sir Percival is always willing to protect you. In fact, he's so keen he's racing up the stairs to your chambers already.

]Ummm...isn't Merlin freeing him the point at which he goes homicidal and tries to kill everyone? Not exactly what I'd call being on Merlin's side. :p

As it is the morning after the night before, I don't expect anyone will see this for some time, but anyway...

Sorry, I phrased my point incorrectly. I didn't mean 'it isn't until Merlin frees him that it is stated unambiguously that Kilgharrah is on Merlin's side', I meant 'it isn't until after Merlin frees him....'

I was remembering the exact point when Kilgharrah says he has never been on the side of the witch (Morgana) and Merlin says 'but are you on my side?' and Kilgharrah says 'yes'. I think it happens in 3:02 but I can't be sure. What I do recall though is it happens out in the open, not in the cave, so that was why I said (or meant to say) it happened after Merlin had freed him.

Not immediately after of course. No, the dragon has to go on his unexplained rampage first, but that was within his Ambiguous Allegiance Phase, during which I was never quite sure what his motives were. But after the conversation stated above, you are supposed to know that Kilgharrah is on Merlin's side.

I kind of agree with you Natarhi (and said it myself in a post last night) that Kilgharrah's allegiance might have only come about because Merlin became a dragonlord and could command him henceforth, except that Merlin does not often command Kilgharrah from that time onwards. He asks his advice, and asks for his knowledge about things, but he doesn't command the truth from the dragon. So you can't really say that Kilgharrah is only on Merlin's side because he has to obey him. Could a dragonlord even command the truth from a dragon? I suppose he could, but it tends to be more commands of action rather than commands over what he says.

*staggers out of room with big smile on face*

Despite yesterday's untimely incident, I think the COCK launch party was a triumph and should thrust them on the road to success

I did think we were missing Arthur's input though, we really need to get him up to plucking speed on other notes now he seems to have mastered the G-string

Thank you to Sir Stu for suggesting it, Lady Star, Natarhi and Keren for their assistance . . . and, of course, to the knights for being instrumental in the entertainment. They certainly learnt some moves from certain establishments in the town (or so I'm led to believe)

All in all, with the post-concert celebrations, I do believe it was a night to remember *smiles shyly at Percival* . . . I know I had one ;)

On a slightly different subject, but still relating to Colin, I’ve been reading some reviews of a play he was in a while back, Our Private Life. I’ve worked in the child protection field for a number of years and so I was interested in the subject matter. The play seems to revolve around whether Colin’s character, Carlos, was sexually abused by his father as a child. However, after spending far too much time surfing, I can’t find any info to confirm whether he did or not. Has anyone seen it and could spoiler the ending for me?
