I'm in central London and it is around 26 degrees which is pleasant but not exactly a "scorcher", Even 30 isn't scorching.

It's 92F (33C) in the shade here in France. I just checked the thermometer. It's why I'm sat inside. Going outside is like walking into a heated oven.

Not everywhere will get rain or thunderstorms all the time, there will be dry intervals in between and it will still be warm at the weekend. Some people will be on here claiming thet because THEY didn't get much (or any) rain, and it's still hot, the forecast was wrong. Others will be on here reporting humdingers of thunderstorms... there's a lot of pot luck involved in these situations so don't give up on it yet!!!

Incidentally, tonight's showers perhaps thunder will largely be gone before noon Friday, so an even hotter afternoon in some places.

Have 2 thermometers in garden. One in sun is on 32c and the one in shade is 25c.
    It's just a lovely temperature.

I cant believe this country's attitude to hot and cold weather.

It's due to be 30'C and the newspapers talk of 'hundreds of deaths' and shout 'stay indoors'. Its pathetic.
I was in Hungary recently and it was 37'C and there was none of this pointless stupid hysteria as we suffer in this country. people just dealt with it.

And come on, 30'C isn't exactly a boiling death inducing temperature!

Well it's 45 deg C on the grass in sunshine in my back garden at the moment and reached 49 deg C yesterday (black thermometer probe). The air temperature at 4 feet is 26 deg C. That's what people need to remember, skin or clothing temperatures in bright sunsine can be quite extreme.

Well actually it is if you are not sensible. I certainly don't think it is sensible to sit out in the 30'C heat without sun protection and plenty of water to drink.

I agree. My inlaws are in Spain. When it's silly hot they just shrug their shoulders and get on with it. No manic TV dramatics about DEATH and warning to stay inside or risk DOOM
