Windows Live Mail NOT sending Photos

A strange problem seems to have started to impact on Windows Live Mail.
I have contacts in Cambridge (on Windows 8.1), Dorset (on Windows 7) and myself in Brighton (on Windows 10 build 10130) but all of us using the same version of Windows Live Mail.
In all cases using the photo mail button and often just trying to send a photo as an attachment the send gets to about 50% or maybe a little more and then renders the program useless until either rebooted or the winlive process is halted from the AltCtrlDel route.
All three of us are using different ISPs. All three of us can send the same photos using Outlook 10 or 2013.
Anyone else having this problem? Have Microsoft done something on the server side that is stopping this from working?
