Interesting to note that the BigTop40 brand is being carried over onto Capital TV. Currently doing a "Chart Warm-Up", complete with Vodafone sponsor stings.
So, they're showing "Chart Warm-Up" but no chart? What's the point of that?
The chart is on at 7pm, I would imagine that it so it doesnt clash with the radio show which clearly they still want people to listen too.
I am not a Global fan but these channels arent actually too bad. Its early days but Heart makes a change from the Celine Dion/movie soundtracks obsessed Magic channel.

The chart is 'real time' don't forget, where as these channels are automated.
So they'd need to actually have someone manipulating the videos in sync with the radio show, and until they can do that properly, possibly with a presenter, it's probably best to just point to the radio show.
Does Heartv play any music? - every time I've flicked onto that channel they've been on the ads, and I've seen Lawson on Capital the first three times I flicked though it!
I've had it on in the background for the last two hours or so and can't say i've seen any. Capital on the other hand naturally repeats tracks very quickly being a tight CHR station.
Yes indeed heart is a good tv channel and so is capital in its own way. These are very good from global as much as it pains me to say so lol they are good channels.
I quite like them, they seem very closely aligned with the radio stations, even carrying the same radio style imaging, shame though that there are no VJ's, whilst these channels do feel quite fresh and innovative in the way they just convert a music radio station to a music video station, EMAP/Bauer has almost been here before carrying the Smash Hits Chart and aligning music video channels with radio brands and vice versa.
It would've been a good idea for them to show 80's videos through the night to go alongside All 80's, All Night.
As the FM stations that replaced the ex locals are so ruthless about being focused so exclusively on music than any other type of commercial radio content, I guess we can't be surprised that they don't have VJ's, but it is a slick idea to bring radio style imaging to music TV.
Capital and Heart TV are not performing well, probably due to the poor channel numbers on Sky. Freesat is too small to add much to the figures.

I think they've done a pretty good job , the segues are excellent, but I doubt Billy Joe Bob in the street would tune in just for that to be honest.
It got me wondering how Heart and Capital TV are performing close to six months on...

Both are up slightly and have overtaken some of the small specialist channels, but I think they'll always find it tough unless they can acquire better channel numbers on Sky. Magic seems to be a strong performer for Bauer but has little in common with the radio station.

(An MCR at a commercial radio operation... the last one must have closed in the 80s?!)

Yeah, sure. Of course it is...
How many repeats have you seen on Heart? What tracks? Other posts have praised it and mentioned only a few repeats in six hours, eg. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showpost.php?p=61650950&postcount=52

Or "a PC in the cupboard", as I believe it's now known

Heart is actually better....but again does not play new songs such as "Stay" by Rihanna.
