Madonna brought her MDNA Tour to Washington, D.C. on Monday night, and added a bizarre dose of politics to the show.

"Y'all better vote for f--king Obama, OK? For better or for worse, all right? We have a black Muslim in the White House. Now that's some amazing s--t," she said. "It means there is hope in this country. And Obama is fighting for gay rights, so support the man, goddamnit."

Her comments came in the middle of an extended speech that touched on Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy and traced the civil rights movement from America's inception to Obama's election.

#groan# With publicity-hungry friends like this who would need enemies?

Obama and Islam bashers will probably have a field day with her comments but neither are to blame for these inane comments.

I think the Madge has probably lost ground to Lady Gaga in the loony pop star stakes and is desperate to increase publicity for herself.

Funny. However, on a serious note, we don't know whether Obama is a muslim or not. What we do know is he spent much of his formative years in muslim lands and was educated at a madrasah. So its highly possible he adopted Christianity back in the USA for means of expedience than any true faith. It is thus logical to suggest, he is probably highly sympathetic to Islam& muslims even if he dosent actually practice it.

NO HE WASN'T. When he was in Indonesia he was educated at both Muslim & Roman Catholic schools (odd no-one says he's a Catholic) which means that most pupils in the schools were Muslim or Catholic respectively.

But neither school was a madrassa. It's like saying that someone who attends a Church of England school in England must be a Christian.
