I had a crazy idea earlier that I could try and eat and drink my way through the 32 nations involved in the World Cup, so I am throwing the floor open to ideas..........

I still regret not going to any of the matches there.

I want the Brazil burger NOW
Would be easy if North Korea were playing - just grass and water for everyone.

Apparently Croatians like cured ham.
So you could get parma ham or speck as an alternative.
Away from ham, here are some (very basic) ideas but hopefully you'll find some inpiration in there somewhere:
France - coq au vin
Spain - Paella or Tapas
Mexico - Fajitas, burritos
Australia - prawns on a bbq
Greece - Kelftiko, spanakopita, dolmades, moussaka
Japan - sushi, ramen
Italy - pasta, pizza, bruschetta
Belgium - fries and mayo
USA - burgers
Portugal - salted cod, sardines
That's all for now, I shall continue to ponder and let you know if I have any more thoughts

Argentina - barbequed steak with chimichurri sauce (kind of garlicky salsa)
Switzerland - fondue, just the thing for summer, or rosti potatoes with bratwurst
Netherlands - Thick green pea soup with smoked sausage, another summer classic
Iran - Rice Pilaff, kind of like lamb biryani but more elaborate
Algeria - Merguez - delicious spicy lamb sausage, couscous
Germany - sausage with sauerkraut, fried potatoes
South Korea - kim chi, kind of very spicy sauerkraut or live octopus, legs still wiggling (ask your fishmonger)
England - steak and kidney pudding, or blandest thing on the menu
Colombia and/or Costa Rica - expensive fancy coffee
Ghana or Ivory Coast - high cocoa plain chocolate
Some great food from Colombia. Arepas are traditional, and pretty versatile to fill with whatever you like - lovely for breakfast with a bit of scrambled egg and salsa.
Brazil - I dunno what is called but they have these mini chicken pies. Lush.
Brazil - Caparinha. Mix Cachaca with fresh lime, sugar and ice. I ordered six bottles of this last year: http://thecocktailgeek.com/review-velho-barreiro-cachaca/
Very good. :D

Now why didnt I think of that
Sounds like a good plan. I'm sure they eat pizza and drink beer in most of the countries that are playing.
