Well, a big Congratulations to you on your weight loss. It must have been difficult, but you have proved that with hard work and determination, plus the incentive you had, loosing that much weight is possible.
This should be an inspiration to other members here who want to loose weight too and think its too hard.
Please provide some insights for other members, i.e. what you done, etc, food, etc? routine?
Oh and good job on winning the money, what will you spend it on?
Out of interest how did you prove to the bookies you'd lost the weight?
I had to get a "medical professional" to witness my weigh in and sign off on it. The nurse at my local GP's was happy to oblige so once William Hill received the paperwork, the win was confirmed.
I didn't actually follow any specific diet over the past year, I pretty much followed the "eat less, move more" idea. I tried counting calories but lasted about a day as it drove me crazy trying to work it all out.
I just stopped eating high fat foods like crisps, cakes e.t.c.. and started reading food labels to get food that had the lowest possible fat content and went from there.
I also started walking as often as I could and as far as I could manage. I do have a mild case of scoliosis apparently so every now and again I had a few problems with my back, but I kept going.
I got to a point where I could knock out around 2 and a half miles per day fairly comfortably.
I tried to look at it more as a change of habits rather than a diet, so if I wanted a Big Mac, I had a Big Mac. And I had more than a few Big Mac's over the past year

I say bollocks btw as I've missed out on an earner myself, i'd lost 7 in a few months.
Thankfully they didn't print the picture they used - it looks bloody horrible. The picture in the local paper is just about passable.
Maybe a few tips for other FMs how you managed it? I'm ok, just thinking of others
Where's the link to the local paper then Jason?

ps. some before and after pics???..lol
The local paper story doesn't appear to have been published online (yet?) but i've got a couple of copies so i'll have to scan it in.
Or i'll take a picture later on and upload it once i've finished fannying around with my new phone.
My son informed me that he has just lost a stone over the last month, I'm going to tell him about you
Now don't spend that money on goodies
Dead chuffed for you, well done again
I'd imagine some form of scales would have been involved
Well done, mate, and that's a brilliant way to motivate yourself!

You really did well I don't know why they felt the need to mention that to describe you.
