  Yup, jeans are belted at the waist and the belly button is inside the trousers, not above the belt.

  your natural waist is where your belly button is - its the narrowest bit!
  
  we used to wear trousers and skirts which fastened round there. but not anymore, and im always feeling the draught.
  
  mine is 27 inches.

  Waist a couple of weeks a go was just under 24 inches. I am just under 5 foot 4 inches.
  
  I have been quite ill recently and not measured but I know I have lost a bit of weight.

  32 inch waist (in Gap, at least) is a size 14, so a 29-inch waist would be around 10-12. Some stores do odd-size waists and others do evens, it's very confusing.
