Seems to high to me...do you wear your trousers up over your belly button?
Nuts to you, matthewhotdude, you've just made me stand up to check.
Yup, jeans are belted at the waist and the belly button is inside the trousers, not above the belt.

I must have a high belly button, or it's all the low rise jeans I have, there is at least a 2-3 inch gap from my belly button to the top of my jeans
32 inch waist (in Gap, at least) is a size 14, so a 29-inch waist would be around 10-12. Some stores do odd-size waists and others do evens, it's very confusing.
