No I hadn't heard of him either. He was an R&B singer of the fifties.
His #1 R&B hit of 1956 was "Since I Met You Baby."
It's a great, but very simple tune.
One of my all time favourite films is the 1996 "Loan Star," starring the late Elizabeth Pena.
She plays it on a jukebox, but it's in Spanish!
