So I remember io9 doing this around the time of the anniversary (with some very interesting choices) and I remember someone else then ranking them all as well because they didn't agree with io9 (and making some even more interesting choices). And then of course there was DWM's poll earlier this year.
So my question is have any of you ranked them all on a blog or anything? I really like reading stuff like that so if you have post a link so I can read it that's all!

To get as coherent a ranking as possible, people rated them all between 1 and 5 - no decimals or zero scores allowed. With such a limited scale there were many episodes that ended up having the same scores as each other, so with those I simply calculated which of these tied episodes received more 5 ratings than others to figure which was the best received. If these drew, then the most 4's then the most 3's. Ultimately I was able to rank all 102 episodes from Series 1-7 without any draws. The results were these (keeping in mind that The Name of the Doctor being the most recent episode was susceptible to bias and would likely move down a bit now)...
I have more statistics I put together in the unlikelihood anyone is interested. A few things...
- Asulum of the Daleks (Series 7) was the best received opening episode with 86% approval. In contrast, New Earth (Series 2) was the poorest received with less than 54% approval.
- The Name of the Doctor (Series 7) was the best received finale with 93% approval, followed by The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang (Series 5) with 85% approval. The End of Time (Specials) was the poorest received finale with less than 57% approval, whilst The Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords (Series 3) was the lowest finale for a full series, with 69% approval.
- Series 7 had both the best and worst received Christmas specials, with The Snowmen gaining 76% approval and The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe managing only 41% approval.
- The best received overall series (when Christmas specials are excluded) was Series 4, with an average approval rating of 76%. Series 2 is the poorest received series with an average approval rating of 65%. The Specials fared worse still with an average approval rating of 61%.
- The series with the episodes least likely to score a 1/5 is Series 4. Eight out of thirteen episodes did not score a single 1/5. In close second was Series 1, where seven out of thirteen episodes did not score a single 1/5.
- The series' with the episodes least likely to score a 5/5 are Series 1 and Series 5. In both series, there were four episodes that did not score a single 5/5.
I hope this was of some interest to you. It's a shame I didn't wait until The Time of the Doctor to do this, but I guess someone could always do another with Series 8 included as well.
Same with DWM's recent poll, I do wonder if in 5 years when they do the next one, it will place just quite as highly.
This is a fun page to go for:

Inferno at No.1?! Might have to try and sit though it just one more time.
Lol. Inferno's a great story but surprised it's still at No.1 in that poll. City of Death and Genesis of the Daleks' were no.1 for a while.
In most polls that I've seen, 'Inferno' comes top of the Pertwee stories but not normally in the overall top 10.
Wow. That's an very erm unique take on the list. I think a lot of NuWho-haters have been voting on that!
The Mutants at 63? That's not something I ever thought I'd see placed quite so highly
Yep, looking at the voting, I think 3rd Doctor fans are being a bit eager!
