It seems George Michael managed to fall out if a moving car in the motorway. How the hell does one manage that?

http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/he-was-lucky-he-didnt-die--george-michael-fell-out-of-speeding-car-onto-m1-motorway-according-to-eye-witness-8625021.html

I did have a quick look but it appears its not a repost.

Seatbelts. Why do people not wear seatbelts?

I can't see how it could have happened if he had a seatbelt on.

(I did wonder if he was pushed when I first saw this story, or he is just a very very lucky ( to be alive) idiot).

Am glad he's ok now though.

Edit- I read yday that he was trying to properly shut the door as it wasn't shit properly, so he was opening it to shut it again properly. Whether that's a load of poppycock though is beyond me. Should have worn a seatbelt. Clunk click!

    Now that's unfortunate!

Old George really really needs to start staying away from cars. Having said that I'm kind of reluctant to recommend taking the train.....

He fell out of his car and was then run over by it, and blamed it on jacket potatoes. :D

You'd think he'd travel in cars that beep when the door isn't closed properly. It's the future.

    Much safer than a car.

Look at Grayrigg for example. Pendolinos are built like tanks.

    wikipedia wrote:
Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Group chairman, visited the site of the derailment at 11:00 the following morning to comment on the incident. During his news conference at the site he said that he regarded the driver, named as Iain Black from Dumbarton,[8] as a hero, as he had attempted to stop the train and remained in his seat to ensure the safety of passengers.[5] Mr Black left hospital in late March and stated that "I've got to be in the cab to help the train and it never crossed my mind to leave."[8]
Branson also later thanked local residents for their help at the accident site, describing how he "was very impressed to hear how those kind people rallied round, opening their hearts and opening their doors to strangers in distress".[9] Local farmers assisted the emergency services by transporting equipment using quad bikes and four-wheel drive vehicles. Sergeant Jo Fawcett of the Cumbria Constabulary also offered thanks, saying that "There are so many people who have given up their own time to contribute in some way to dealing with the aftermath of the derailment that it would be unfair to name them for fear of missing someone out."[10]
Sir Richard Branson also paid tribute to the Pendolino train, comparing it to a 'tank'. He also added "If the train had been old stock then the number of injuries and the mortalities would have been horrendous".[11] Several sources also gave their praise due to the fact that the carriages generally stayed intact during the accident.

Maybe I'm missing something but does it say whether he was driving or a passenger?

Anyway, George Michael in car-related drama? Who'da thunk it? :o

He was a passenger, and apparently just 'fell out' the passenger door. On the motorway. At 70mph.

I do that all the time. My husband's fed up with having to drive all the way back round to collect me ;)

That happened to an old duffer I know.

We were at a wedding reception and he got blind drunk then fell asleep on the minibus on the way home.
He woke up just as we arrived in town and asked if we were home yet.
Somebody said "Yes..." and, before they got chance to finish saying "...almost there" he jumped up, pulled open the door and stepped out onto the road while the minibus was doing 30mph.

    Fortunately, he was uninjured.

James May (Top Gear presenter) was about to open the car door, when he was slowing down from his Bugatti Veyron speed run, reaching roughly 250 mph in the process, and then when he looked at the speedo, he was still doing 70 mph.

    Sounds plausible.
