I love the Monkey Island games and I'm looking for similar type adventure/puzzle games for the PC. (I've played Grim Fandango too)

I prefer the older ones because they don't needs as much resources as today, and Monkey Island 1 & 2 are much better than 3 and 4.
I used to like Cruise for a corpse and I've still got it somewhere.
Star trek the Next Generation is quite good but slow and you would need DosBox for it which is a free download.
Another site to scan adventure wise is www.adventuregamers.com
agree, they were really good,

And a selection for sale at Game

I recently played Dreamfall: The Longest Journey and thought it was magnificent. There is some irritating combat in it, but it's mostly very easy or avoidable, and the sheer beauty of the rest of the game more than makes up for it
(I also loved Monkey Island and Grim Fandango)
Oh, and I just played A Vampyre Story which I also liked a lot - lots of cartoony fun (from the makers of Monkey Island, apparently)
So did I!
others worth considering are The Lost Crown (best one I've played),Still Life, and Sherlock Holmes and the Silver Earing.
I got dreamfall and just couldn't get into that game, didn't like the controls on it so gave up with that one.
I did get the Myst collection in game for a tenner not long ago but not got round to installing it yet.
Shame lucasarts don't make more of these or even just release a best of pack for XP \ Vista.
The Agatha Christie ones are meant to be good and they will be my next purchase.
Sherlock Holmes : Case of the Pearl Earring is very good and there are a few more of these.
An older one I played that was brilliant was Mystery of the Druids.
The Longest Journey is also a brilliant game (the first one - not Dreamfall) I still haven't been able to get into the sequel
I've been told So Blonde is a good adventure game but I haven't played that yet. Apparently its from the same guy who did Broken Sword so it should be pretty good. It's a point and click game with pirates.. what more could u want!?
It wasnt the Lockpick puzzle by any chance was it because it did my head in lol
sam and max was also good
and i believe there was a game called full throttle or the dig that were also good
basically all old lucasarts games
You can pick them up at Morrisons for £4.99
