dont know about you but i thought the singers tonight were terrible and at one point coz they could not handle a song they stopped singing please strictly get some proper singers in as it was terrible tonight and badly out of tune but the orchestra was fine.

Ciara's "One Thing" which is a really good song was absolutley slaughtered!! It sounded so bad it impacted on my viewing of the dance.

The orchestra clearly COULDNT cope with that song, they should have subbed it for another...

I was on the wrong channel - thought I was watching the X factor auditions. Pure screeching.

Careful OP, this forum kept asking to "sort out the judges" and look what we got. ;) I've kinda gotten used to the singers and don't really mind them. Mind you I didn't mind Arlene, I just wanted her to temper it a little. Oh and I'm also one of those who doesn't mind Brucie. :o

If they change the format too much then it won't be SCD anymore. :(

I think it's slightly unfair on the singer(s).

They are extremely good when they're doing what they specialise in - which is almost always soul/R&B type singing (and anything that can be sung in that style). However, they appear to have to sing across a huge range of genres which often don't suit them.

They need many different singers, not "better" ones.

the singers are pathetic. They go wrong somewhere on every song and sometimes sing out of tune.

If you thought they were bad tonight what about last night, when Ali Baston danced the singer was screeching out the words it totally distracted and spoilt my viewing of her excellent first dance

Well, I was wondering if they have got a new singer? I thought that the singing was too loud generally and distracted from the dancing.
I can't comment on out of tune or screeching as I can't sing to save my life:D but they were definitely too loud.

I think Len and Bruno should bring the singers and band from Dancing with the stars back on the plane with them next week.

    Or, perhaps, more versatile ones.

They sing in tune, but it's often not a very nice sound.

Thank you for this thread as I said the singing was awful and my husband
    said it wasn't.
I thought I was going mad.
It turned me off some of the dances. I don't know how the dancers
managed to dance to it, I couldn't have it would have put me right off.

Yes, it didn't do the new girls any favours, I couldn't concentrate on them at all as I couldn't wait for it to end!
But some of the singing has been really good - it's been a mixed bag, so far.

Yes during the Elton & Kiki song 'Don't go breaking my heart' there's a line that goes "Right from the start, I gave you my heart" but tonight the male singer completely missed the "Right from the start" bit leaving a gap until the female singer sang "I gave you my heart".

I agree with the other posters about the screaching during the song 'One Thing' and the song Ali was dancing to yesterday distracting from the excellent dances. They should be given songs that suits their voices better.
