You don't think the armed forces of any nation state should be held to account by international law for their actions?

    Wow.
How long before right wing commentators demand referenda on the Rome Statute, UDHR and membership of the United Nations?

How well does Al-Qaeda treat its prisoners.

So you want to compare the behaviour of our troops with that of Al Quaeda?

We are better than them. Even in the face of adversity we are supposed to be nearly unrivalled in the discipline of our troops. Clearly this wasn't the case in Iraq. There is a case to be answered.

Comparing with Al Quaeda is meaningless and is only used as an argument for those who want to excuse the horrific actions of some soldiers.

Yes our troops should adhere to Queensbury rules in all fields of conflict against every type of foe.

Kind of surreal that a naturalised immigrant expects (and has seen) a high level of standards in the army of his adopted country, one of the leading countries on armed warfare, tactics, and discipline - yet some indigenous citizens appear to have the opposite view of them and expect them to be like Al Quaeda.

Only on Digital Spy. And if only that were true as well.

With Help for Heroes, the bravery and selfless actions the troops performed on behalf of our country, how can this happen?

Many people in the media have stated we have the best trained troops in the world time and time again, we're often hearing that.

Now British forces are being investigated for abuses in Iraq?

How could this have happened? Is it even possible? Heroes that deserve a huge debt of gratitude? Take part in home coming parades with streets lined with patriotic men, women and children?

It's as if we hear one thing and then discover contradictions to that positive image.
