    I do!
But Red Dwarf was on a downhill from series 6, and her arrival neither caused nor reversed it...

    Yes.

But, trivia fans, who played the original Kochanski (spelling?)

I'll take her real name or the name she was credited as.

I preferred her in Crime Traveller where she wore short skirts in almost every episode.

Correct! Although credited as C.P. Grogan at the time.

Claire - aka C.P. - Grogan. Continuing the trivia, can you tell me the band she was in? :D

ETA - beaten to it. :p

Yes I do, in fact I watched an episode with her in the other night. My first TV crush, and my favourite series of RD she was in.

I'd jacked in by the time she turned up, didn't even know she was in it until I saw the repeats on Dave, still haven't watched a full episode from that era.

Rather weak jumping off point for a thread, hey ho this place needs some traffic and variety.

Clare Grogan and Chloe still in the acting game?
Not that I remember seeing Chloe in anything else.

Chloe's father, Paul Annett also directed a lot of TV during the 1970s and 80s, such as long stints on EastEnders, Grange Hill, Tales of the Unexpected, Poldark amongst his long list of credits.
He also directed one of the Amicus horror films, The Beast Must Die.

Claire Grogan who was also the lead singer in the group Altered Images :)
She was the best Kochanski IMO, cute and sweet and friendly. Chloe may have been a looker but she was snobby and annoying, why would Lister fall in love with her?

Her brother Jamie is a tv director too. Eastenders et al.

Horribly miscast as Kochanski, although not helped by the fact that the writers completely reinvented the character when she 'replaced' Rimmer in order to try and generate some dramatic tension. The whole premise of Red Dwarf was basically Lister vs Rimmer - Kryten vs Kochanski was a very poor substitute. If she had been cast as a new character it may have worked, but she simply wasn't Kristine Kochanski.

I remember Crime a Traveller as well, what a great idea it was, just such a shame it was such a cataclysmically awful attempt at a show. Truly one of the best ideas made bad in the history of TV.

What on Earth happened to Chloe Annett? Yes, Claire Grogan was the better Kochanski, but I liked Annett's version as well - she gave it a damn good go.

I have read that she will be back in the new series of Red Dwarf not full time but for a ep or two.

Doesn't sound up to much on paper either.
I never saw it or heard of it before this thread.
