Hello boys and girls. Are you sitting comfortably?

Then I'll begin - and I hope to set those of you interested on something of an ancient treasure hunt.

I've long been a fan of chaucer's canterbury tales - not necessarily always reading the Olde English (too much hard work when the modern translation's so awesome) - anyway as you may be aware there are several tales that are unfinished.

An early copy of the book explains that Chaucer's bawdier tales (eg the cook's, the miller's) are likely to have come from a source called The Book of the Red Lion

...and I'm trying to find it. Internet searches seem to come up blank and so I'm desperate to know if anyone's heard of this book, or where I might find information on it. Looking at the British Library website initially seems to have drawn a blank... but then we're talking about a medieval book that no-one seems to be able to reference!

Can anyone help me with the medieval treasure hunt?
