I can guarantee you 100% that there are more bounty hunters in the US than there are in the UK.
That's unfair; if we had as big a population we'd have at least two.

    Blimey! :o

If the story had been "Pastie-wielding Morris Dancers attack druids at Glastonbury" would we really be getting into "Why are people saying 'You couldn't get much more English than that?' Not everyone in England is a Morris Dancer or a druid, y'know. In fact I personally haven't met any!".

No the difference is that if you miss a court appearance they put a warrant out and normally, there is a warrant squad that goes out, and they are trained in how to pick people up.

    Really?

We have warrant squads roaming around England?

No wonder nobody ever gets away with crime!

Wow, all these years and i didn't know.

Funnily enough I watched a report about the rights Bounty Hunters have on Last Weeks News Tonight with John Oliver last monday.

It might be available on youtube.

    I saw that.
    Quite unbelievable.

No you as in ( you) in the US. Warrant officers pick up people who defy court orders.

Oh, well, what you said just didn't make sense i'm afraid.

Thanks for kind of clearing it up.

There isn't a need for bounty hunters because we have warrant officers. They go out and pick people up who don't show up for their court hearings. They don't go out alone like bounty hunters do.

A bounty hunter might make some sense if they are going after America's most wanted, and even then that's foolhardy.

But to shoot someone dead over DUIs, no.

Bolly, you do realise that anybody in any country is allowed to defend themselves don't you?

I believe international law allows it.

Quite frankly, it doesn't matter if Little Bo Peep was walking past the house - if she was shot at by this old man, she'd be allowed to shoot back!

    I don't understand.

Bounty hunter protects himself and brings a criminal in.

Over here it would have been police shot dead, killer on the run.

Howard had been charged with fourth-offence DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and driving on a revoked licence, Mr DeVine said.
But he missed a court appearance, the spokesman said.

    Well done the bounty hunter!

As a country singer, isn't all that stuff pretty much a contractual obligation?

    Really?

I thought country singers were boring.

Apart from Miley Cyrus, of course.

Maybe the bail bondsman shouldn't have been there?

"The shooting has raised questions about the rights of bail bondsmen, who are not licensed in Tennessee. Shell, whom local media identified as a former policeman, had a warrant to arrest Howard. But under Tennessee law, the country singer also had a right to defend himself if threatened in his home.

“I don’t believe they had the right to come in his house, no,” Dotson said."

Quite frankly, and i'm stating my stance on crime and criminals here - he shouldn't have committed crimes should he?

    The man was scum.

If he had drug and alcohol problems doesn't prove he was scum or that it was legal how it went down.

Why I explained the purpose of a warrant unit. Lots of people are picked up safely by warrant units all the time.
