I prefer seeing the ITV soap ratings this way with +1.
EastEnders back above 6m, but Corrie still leads the way. I'm an EastEnders fan but you can't deny Corrie is holding up well this Summer. I just don't understand all the Corrie is falling talk when it gets a lower rating on an extremely hot day.
Do we know that for a fact though because BBC seemed to have abandoned Drama on Monday this year. Are we expecting NT on Monday?
New Tricks is down as "Unplaced" for that week in the BBC's Programme Information, however, Wednesday 9pm on BBC one has Operation Wild scheduled.
Mon - not mentioned
Tue - in the Club drama
Wed - Operation Wild
Thu - WDYTYA
Fri - not mentioned
I cannot see either drama going out on a Friday, so that leaves NT for Monday, and The Fall Wednesday (assuming that they would not engineer a clash of dramas)
Pointless 2.64m (23.5%)
The 21st Question 1.96m (18.4%)
Tipping Point 1.61m (25.8%)
Big Brother 1.24m (7.0%)
Couples Come Dine With Me 0.85m (7.9%)
Perfection 0.77m (13.3%)
BBBOTS 0.56m (5.8%)
Deal or No Deal 0.39m (5.7%)
Countdown 0.34m (5.6%)
Win It Cook It 0.32m (4.0%)
That's a positive start for 21st Question. If it ends its run with anything like that number, though, I'll be gobsmacked. Awful start for that quiz/cooking thing. C4 just can't catch a break. Tired old schedule that should have been put out of its misery 5 years ago. Tragic.
A good start for The 21st Question. I do think it's good for ITV to rotate programmes in the 5pm slot. I know Pointless gets the ratings but viewer fatigue for it might start sooner than for The Chase.

6 part drama starting on Sunday at 9pm, 6 part drama starting tonight, who do you think you are for 10 weeks on Thurday and new 6 part comedy starting (Boomers) a week on friday which leaves Monday and Wednesday so New Tricks and The Fall will probably go to which day the other is not on.
Lots of 6 parter new stuff starting on BBC1 at present the long drought is over on the BBC at least.

It depends how you look at it - CS is down yoy quite a lot and its something we are not used to seeing so its worthy of comment but its still ahead of the other 2 so seems to be doing OK in that respect at least.
It was only the first night and things might pick up but I'm still mad at how badly Conan did. What on earth is wrong with UK viewers ? They obviously want their digital channels rammed with repeats all day long of the same 2-3 shows.

My 'Theory of Broadcast TV' is that most people are primarily looking for a social experience with TV programmes.
That means watching with other people, the other people being the UK population.
So TruTV does not meet the criteria of a 'social meeting place', it's just too niche. Put Conan on ITV2 at 11pm and he's getting 500k I would guess.
Thanks for that. Conan was on Radio 2 yesterday and there was an article on the BBC News website, along with other TV/radio/magazine publicity so that's not a good start. Poor for the channel all round, really.

Shares about where we would expect I think - CS must have had a boost with the return.

Win It Cook it? Stop it, axe it more like.

Not sure, but Zap2it could have it, they are excellent at the reporting of US ratings.
New Tricks is definitely back on Mondays.

It was a no brainer last year as well but NT ended up on Tuesdays.

New Tricks would have been on Monday last year had it not been for Doc Martin.

That should really be on BBC One, It was only a one off event to mark WW1.
