The Huawei E3256 dongle lists speeds of up to 42mbps, so that must be DC-HSDPA.

I only just noticed this. I'm not a massive fan of dongles - I don't like the reliance on "Connectivity Software" and drivers. I do have a ZTE MF10, so I enquired whether this would be compatible, but it only supports dongles up to 21Mbps (HSPA+)

Youve been lied to, it supports 40+Mbps

    I have this same dongle,

The MF10 the thing the OP is plugging into only supports very low speeds though.

    • Data Service:
    HSUPA 2Mbps UL
    HSDPA 7.2Mbps DL

As per the user guide http://wwwen.zte.com.cn/endata/mobile/Egypt/Egypt_Instruction/201203/P020120305416987295739.pdf

There is a firmware upgrade which might allow it to do 21Mpbs HSPA+, but the MF10 doesn't do dual carrier / duel cell 42Mbps.

Sorry just noticed i misread, thought you was on about the E3256.

But the MF10 is still quite a good router, and according to three it is HSPA+ Supported.

    No 5GHZ sadly.

Yeah seems like it needs the later firmware to support HSPA+ which 3 have probably been sending it out with, worth the OP checking though.
