I'm going to the perfume shop on sunday to smell some mens fragrances as i want to get my boyfriend something nice. He usually wears Hugo Boss bottled but i thought about something new, i dont want anything too cheap i want quite a good brand, so if anyone could suggest some and i'll give them a smell on sunday, i'd really appreciate it thanks :D lol

If you want to test different fragrances and are not sure what you want, the best thing you can do is find one you like the initial smell of. Spray it on a card or if possible on the person you are buying for. Then go and do the rest of your shopping. Then if you like the smell by the time you return to the perfume shop buy that.

Dont buy a fragrance based on its initial smell because they take probably 20 mins + to settle. They will also smell differently on different people.

Personally i've bought quite a few colognes over the years, the last one I bought (cant remember the name) had won all sorts of awards for being the best male daytime fragrance etc. and was by far the most expensive i've bought. It was rubbish.

My personal favourites are Jean Paul Gaultiers.

Hi Flaxseed - may I ask something very nosey? Is this bf the guy you liked at work..?

Either way I'm happy for you!

Antaeus & Egoiste by Chanel, and Armani Aqua di Gio for men work for me...

    JPG male is outdated now.

Have a sniff of Paul Smilth original (green square bottle) or Paco XS.

My favourite is Touch by Grigio Perla (La Perla).
It's quite difficult to get hold of, but you can buy it through Amazon at the moment. The only high street store I've managed to find it in is Beatties, but I've heard you can also get it at John Lewis.

There is a gift box that you can buy which contains some mini sample bottles of different fragances for the person to try and a voucher so they can buy a bigger bottle of ththe one they like.
