Well we could all go around breaking into a meeting and shouting at the speaker and throwing eggs filled with paint. This guy us obviously a public nuisance.

We have commandeered this account. Dalekbuster523 has been sentenced to 250 days of community service. Anyone else who speaks against Mr Cameron will face similar punishment.

He wasn't given a sentence for shouting at someone. He was given a sentence for "behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by violating a security cordon, shouting and failing to desist, attempting to approach Mr Cameron and causing fear and alarm." And it would appear past conduct was taken into account in sentencing.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

Good idea, If they fine every person £200 who want's to shout and scream at David Cameron they would soon get rid of the National debt.
    Got to admit it's catchy.
No if's or buts say no to public sector cuts.
    2nd verse.
The Tory plans are a farce, they can go and stick them right up their a....

If that is the reasoning, then they may as well arrest half the country.

It happened 3 and a half years ago

Oh and breaking a security cordon is a pretty serious offense

Few people trespass on private property, conceal themselves to await the right moment to commit their intended act, deliberately break through a security cordon and behave in a threatening manner and even fewer people do this having previously been fined for throwing paint at the deputy prime minister. Most people have more common sense. If people choose to behave like idiots then they can have no complaint when they are then forced to accept the consequences.

How ridiculous, surely such an incident would only serve to get Cameron pumped.

There was a Scot living and working in London who was also led away while shouting at Cameron about his anti Scottish rhetoric causing him problems in London.

PMs decisions impact on peoples lives, party leaders can upset party members and activists, heckling is only to be expected..

If people aren't allowed to shout at the prime minister, then David Cameron is being a dictator.

People are allowed to shout at the prime minister and several did during the recent TV debates but they are not allowed to break through security cordons.

That was in 2012! Talk about digging up the dirt, this should be on Time Team.

People have far too much time on their hands if this is how they spend their Saturday evenings.

I've seen plenty of anti Labour hecklers dragged away. One at their own party conference. There was a chap dragged off by two police officers during an episode of The Daily Politics for ranting about Labour just prior to the election. Happens to all parties.

Nope , because it is illegal to gain access to someone as high profile as the prime minister in a situation like that without security vetting.

And has been the case for many a year

Nice response from Labour after the initial disgrace of manhandling the old guy, he had a case for charging those clowns with physical abuse.

It wasn't a 'nice response', it was damage limitation rather like the actions of Thomas Cook in recent weeks.

As has been said the man has form for threatening behaviour , and he admitted on this occasion using threatening and abusive behaviour and behaviour intended to cause fear and alarm. Now whatever your politics that is not a way to behave there are plenty of ways to register a protest without resorting to attacking or abusing people , last time he got off with a fine this time he got community service. It serves the man right .

Can't see that line making it onto the History Channel which is where this story belongs.

Some guy in Glasgow got 4 months for singing one of the naughty songs in public earlier this year. This Stuart Rodger got off light. :p
